I had a great conversation with my Uber driver about the power of collective action this morning. He was so excited he missed the exit but I let it slide, lol, #buildabetterworld

We are letting people file their taxes early and get their refund as a cash advance. It has been busy and expected to be even more busy. I tell people I've been having a taxing time.

Hallelujah it's Friday!! Half of this week was a bit crazy at work, but I managed to get the issues taken care of without strangling anyone.

I did finally hear back from the medical weight loss center, and I have to do a virtual education session first which is scheduled for February 8th and then I will be scheduled for my consult. Ever since I had my hysterectomy, I've gained 20lbs and I am having the hardest time getting anything off even with fasting. Crossing fingers, they can help me get a jumpstart on the weight loss again.

I hope Melody being deactivated was a glitch on OH and she didn't deactivate on her own. :(

QOTD: I usually wear black slacks and a colorful top if I have any big meetings.

B: coffee with raw milk and a breakfast wrap with egg, cheese, and bacon

L: cheddar broccoli soup and half of spinach pie

D: baked fish with sweet potato fries

Since this weekend is going to be zero or below I will be making soups lots of soups just not sure what kind.

Have a nice day.

Mornin' All!

We had to take DH's car in to the Honda place a few minutes ago for routine service. Now he's snowblowing the driveway and walks, so we won't get over to MIL's until later this morning. We've donated so much stuff that we're mostly down to the stuff I'm not sure what to do with. Like some pans she has that have scratches in them. We don't need any pans - in fact, I need to get rid of half of mine. The scratches in hers don't go down to the metal, so they should still be safe to use, but on the other hand, I don't know if any second hand places will accept them with the scratches. And I don't know if they're recyclable since there's plastic on them (handles - I know metal is recyclable, but I don't know if they'll recycle pans with plastic handles). And I don't really want to send them to the landfill knowing that they'll stay there until the earth blows up a billion years from now. I'll check to see if my niece wants them, but if not...??? I guess I can work on something else while I stew about this. Like take the books and CD's we don't want over to the library for their book sale (the one place we haven't been to yet with her "stuff"). And work on filling out these donation forms (which I still haven't done) before I forget what I took where.

QOTD: I worked at libraries for most of my career (the state library - and then one of the university libraries), and we didn't have dress codes except that you had to come to work dressed. So nobody dressed up for business meetings - well, except maybe the head honchos - but some of them only if there were outsiders at the meetings.

B: 1/2 C protein oatmeal topped with 1/2 cup plain skyr and 2 T cranberry sauce. Coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake or protein muffin

L: I'll be at one of my film groups. We're meeting at some new (to us) restaurant, so I'm not sure what to get. They have French onion soup, but I could probably eat half a sandwich for the same amount of calories, depending on the sandwich. May do that and have the other half of the sandwich for dinner - or tomorrow's lunch.

AS: air-popped popcorn and L&F yogurt

D: ?? the big mystery - again

I don't have any photos to share, but here's my MIL's obit. It was mostly written by AI - I was pretty impressed with the results - we only had to do minimal tweaking. Took us all of about 20 minutes!!

P.S. In case you noticed her birthdate, no, she did not have DH when she was 15 years old! He is 10 years younger than me.

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning! Who will I be today? It doesn't matter what they call me here on OH, I'm going to be the best kind of girl I can be. I fizzed out on exercise again yesterday. I should have gone for a walk, for my mental health. But instead I stayed close to Rog and fed him warm beverages, healthy meals and a steady diet of Tylenol and Advil. He had a better night's sleep and is moving around pretty well. He was doing laundry yesterday and dishes last night. Which is perfect, 'cause I need him to drive me to the airport in a few hours. This girl is going to hang out with a couple familiar chickies this weekend!

QoTD: Back in the day, Black, Navy or Grey suit, dark top and heels. Always heels.

Menu today is only a little decided.

B: cottage cheese/egg bake with a little deli turkey, tomatoes, garlic and shallot

L: Not sure if I am eating here, or taking a protein snack to the airport

D: No idea. Ok that's a lie. I'm betting there will be wine. But after that...

Peace Everybody!

We were talking about heels at one point this week and how many people have just not added them back into rotation. I know I haven't.
