What's on your Thursday Menu?

Good Morning! Hmm, no matter how much I try, OH is not letting me upload a meme this morning. Sorry! That means I also can't upload pics of my haircut. I got 4" taken off, and it's still shoulder length! I like it. I also got some cute new things that I can wear to interviews. No manicure--it would have been nice but I can't make myself spend money on something so silly when I am not making money.
Today's interview is for the job I am least excited about. It's a good commute, which is nice, but the job itself isn't really what I want for my next step. I'm hoping one of the others will work out, but I'm keeping this one in my back pocket. But I need to get myself into a good head space and sound more excited when I meet them today, haha.
Note about yesterday's QOTD--I had NO idea that we are apparently the only state left with full service gas stations! They are not available at every station, but there are plenty around if you are feeling lazy. I feel like I should use them more now that I know they are rare gems.
QOTD: What animal would you like to be for a day? My cats live very blessed lives and I can't imagine that would be a bad time! But I suppose I can be that lazy on my own whenever I want, so instead I think I will pick being a Lion. It would be great to run that fast, explore nature, and be large and in charge.
- Protein Coffee
- Egg Bites
- Street Tacos

QOTD. I would go with a porpoise (Dolphin). They are very common in the waters around here and love to engage in play with boats and people. They sometimes roll on their sides and look up at you while coasting on the bow wake. So close you could reach out and touch them. Of course never do that !
JB Good luck for your job interview today. Something in the back pocket is always good, but I am hoping you will get the job you want.
THANK YOU for all the good wishes for my doctor adventures yesterday, I never did get to circle back and thank everyone yesterday. The good vibes helped as my Echo came back with stable condition from last one. YaY! I am still waiting to meet with oncology cardiologist about the calcium in my heart arteries. And to get into the kidney doctor. I have my liver ultrasound tomorrow and a follow up with that doctor next month, the soonest I can get in. This is all because of my autoimmune disease attacking my internal organs. Yesterday I had ultrasound of my leg veins checking for clots, again vasculitius from autoimmune. Oh and my retinas are messed up from medications and affecting my vision. Sorry for the whine, but it does help lift my spirit.
I have nothing planned for the day except an hour chat with a favorite cousin in Colorado. She will let me know about the weather as she grew up in Florida. It is a little brisk this morning but it is just WRONG to complain with so many of you having sub zero temperatures. Stay warm my friends.
Menu. Chili. And razzleberry pie which is on no one's diet but so delicious. Cottage cheese and fresh raspberries. I am looking forward to the Plant City strawberries in February.

So happy to hear your good news :)
I had to look up razzleberry pie--I wondered if there was a magical fruit you have in FL that we don't have here, lol. Sounds delish!
Mornin' All!
One of the cats woke me up at 2:30 AM and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up, set up my skyr to drain, and stuck the bread I had proofing in the basement fridge in the oven. I was a little afraid it hadn't risen enough yet, but I just took it out of the oven, and it looks perfect!
I have to take one of the cats in to the vet clinic this morning to get his monthly arthritis shot, and then we'll head over to MIL's appt. We didn't go yesterday because DH had three virtual meetings. I intended to work on the donation forms (for a bunch of MIL's stuff we donated) and make some headway on the book we'll be discussing at my book group Monday morning, but I spent most of the day playing on the internet and eating. I managed to put away 2500 kcal yesterday and got RH from the Haagen Dazs I polished off last night. When will I ever learn? At least we'll be at MIL's most of the day today. We're so busy over there that it doesn't really occur to me to eat unless I'm actually hungry. We won't be spending nearly as much time over there starting next week since classes start then. I'm auditing two of them and DH will have to spend 2-3 days in the office now that classes will be back in session, but hopefully my classes will keep me busy enough that I won't eat like that again. Wow - it was awful. I could go over to MIL's apt on my own next week while DH is working, but to be honest, it creeps me out being there alone (since she died there - in her bed).
QOTD: well, I love cats, but not everyone is as nice to them as we are (and some people are cruel towards them), so I'd only be a cat if I was guaranteed to be in a cat-loving house. So...I don't know...maybe a bird?
I'm going to put my menu into MyFitnessPal when I'm done with this since I'm less likely to stray from it when I do that...
B: coffee with half & half (already had). Ratio yogurt with raspberries
MS: protein shake
L: hummus with multigrain tortilla chips (10 of them - and yes, I count them!)
AS: another Ratio yogurt, if needed
D: either the lasagna I've yet to eat, or lentil curry
ex: I haven't done any in a couple of days, since it's too damn cold to go to the gym. I'll walk the halls at my MIL's apt building when I'm in need of a break. And take the stairs between floors.
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning! Can't believe it's Thursday already. Rog did pretty good for his surgery yesterday. Very out of it on the way home and getting him set up. Slept all afternoon and around dinner time he started to get his feet under him. Managing pain with just Tylenol and Motrin. He has an incision in his chest which is not bothering him (yet...they did a pain blocker) and one in his throat that is making him a bit crazy. Honestly, the big, grippy pressure bandage alone would make me crazy. He'll have about 4 weeks of recovery time and then we go have the unit activated and see where we go from there!
I did so good on food and liquid yesterday. Until late at night I ate a bag of caramel M&M's I knew I should not have bought. And zero exercise yesterday. Need to change that today. No plans today at all. Also hoping I can get in and get a pedi. And a walk at minimum. The hours stretching ahead of me today seem endless, but I'm pretty certain I will blink and dinner will need to be made and it will be dark out.
QoTD: So glad Jim went with Manatee. Because I instantly thought hippo. Gracefully floating along in water doing little pirouettes and then ferocious when I wanna be.
Foods today
B: egg bake with unexpectedly cheddar sausage
L: left over moussaka
D: on the fence. White chicken enchiladas and black beans. Made with zero carb tortillas. Or Spaghetti squash with roasted feta and tomatoes with a piece of chicken thigh. This will be an audible later this afternoon.
Peace Everybody!
