What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Sorry about Ron!
When DH got Covid (has it been already 2 years?) I quarantined him in one of the kids' room and had him use a different bathroom than mine. Meals served on a tray at his door. We survived and I didn't get it from him.

Good morning all and Happy Humpty Dumpty Day,
Speaking of Dumpty, that's how I would describe Memphis' and Mississippi's handling of a teeny bit of snow and cold weather. They just shut down and escape from adverse and inclement conditions. It does make a little more sense how social issues 'round dees parts progress. It's now the 4th day that almost everything is shut down.
I'm having a good time regardless. It's completely what I make of it. I'm still exploring all of Memphis.
QOTD- I have never had anyone pump my gas for me. I know New Jersey is a full service state but was unaware of any others. Idea: While getting gas, ask your pump mates if they want you to pump their gas for $2. While your tank is filling up + 5 mins, you could probably get $10 off your tank.
B: A slice loaf of scrambled eggs, a piece of ham, a half bowl of fruity pebbles.

They've even shown news footage here of Memphis. It's amazing what a little bit of snow can do in the wrong place.

G'morning all!
QJB - shopping for new work clothes is always fun. I need to check myself every time I tell myself "I'll wear this to the office!", which office? When? Twice a year in person meetings? Bah! So I am excited for you.
And for the record I always prefer buns of cinnamon to buns of steel.
We have gloomy weather with rain and fog today. But yesterday that was sunny and I was walking Luna I thought of all of you guys in the snow and took these pics to bring some color and joy to your day.
QOD: electric car, baby! Haven't put gas in my car in almost 5 years. In our area there are no full service gas stations, no matter where you are you pump your own gas. Couple of grocery store chains give you the $.10 discount after you spend $100 by putting in your phone number.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee & quest bar
- Epic chicken, quest chips
- Fage yogurt w/blueberries, protein pudding
- Hb egg
- Cal: 836 Protein: 109 Water: 60 oz
- E: 5 miles slow wog + HIIT Steps:14,784
Happy hump day!

Mornin' All!
In case you haven't noticed, I haven't been posting regularly lately since we've been spending many hours each day over at MIL's appt. But today DH is working from home and has two virtual meetings, plus the management is showing the apt to a prospective tenant this afternoon, so we're staying home. It'll allow me time to fill out all the donation sheets I have from the thrift shops (the humane society thrift shop and the hospice thrift shop). I have lists of everything we took there as well as prices on what they sell the same or similar items for, I just have to put it all down on the forms. I'm not sure if this can be written off on her tax returns since she died at the end of Dec 2023 and we made the donations in early Jan 2024, but it's probably worth a try. Or maybe WE can take the deduction (that is, if we can even itemize - most years we can't) since her belongings technically became his on the date of her death, so it might count as OUR items that we're donating. I'm not at all sure. But we'll see. We're meeting with her tax accountant in a couple of weeks, so we'll ask. Hopefully all this recording and price-checking hasn't been a huge waste of time.
QOTD: I think the only times I HAVEN'T pumped my own gas in the last 40 years has been when we've been in New Jersey visiting my MIL (she lived there until she moved to Wisconsin in 2019). I'm not even sure there are any full-service gas stations in Madison anymore.
coffee with half & half
1/2 C protein oatmeal topped with 1/2 C plain Greek yogurt and 2 T cranberry sauce
lunch - maybe a salad? with protein - probably cheese sticks or some chickpeas (if the latter, I'll put them on the salad)
AS: Ratio yogurt with berries
D: lasagna? ****ep putting this but have yet to eat it)
have a great day, everyone!
QOTD- Until recently it was against the law in Oregon to pump your own gas. I have a hybrid and I think that the last time I bought gas was at least a month ago.
We are in the deep freeze with ice. It is a skating rink everywhere. But the temp is edging up it is now 32.7 here so maybe we'll get some break-up of the ice this morning. I-84 is still closed from Troutdale to Hood River.
I'm not going out until the ice is gone. I need yogurt, I have one left so I can survive through tomorrow. I'm unable to open my front door due to snow and ice so I don't want to do an Instacart order, I'd have to tell them to go to the garage door.
My roommate has these ice cleats that go over his shoes, I've ordered some but they won't be here until Monday. The ice will be long gone before then. I figure if I order them we won't get anymore bad weather. My power is still on thank goodness, but there are about 100,000 homes in the area without power. My roommate is going to get some clay pots to make a room heater. I have a ton of tea lights so we should be good.
Have a great day everyone!
