Thank you! I try to remember it could always be worse. Doesn't make it easier per se but makes me more grateful for what's going ok. The trial should only last a few hours but hopefully it'll hit the target area!

Mornin' All!

DH wants to go over to his mother's apt today to do some work. I'm not excited about going out in this cold (-4 here in Wisconsin at the moment), but if he's going, I'll go, too. A friend of a friend gave us her tickets to the university women's hockey game this afternoon. We love going to these games, but walking from wherever we find parking to the arena could be really uncomfortable in these temps - so not sure. I hate to waste the tickets, but... Too bad they don't have a parking garage right across the street from the arena - then we'd go for sure.

QOTD: for buildings, Art Deco. For houses, either craftsman (arts & crafts) or mid-century modern.

B: coffee with half & half (already had). Not hungry at all, so should probably hold off

MS: plain Greek yogurt with cranberry sauce (?)

L: I'll take hummus and multigrain tortilla chips over to MIL's apt for the week, so maybe that

D: spinach lasagna

have a great day, everyone - keep warm!

Good morning! That avo is spot on. I'm staring at one over the top of my laptop that needs to be eaten with breakfast and lunch today for sure. It's 42 here. I know that is not cold by ya'lls standards, but brrrrrr.

Yesterday I did great on food and exercise. I did not do great with wine. Oh well. Today is a new day. The Wiz was very fun and oh my gosh are those artists talented! I wanted to bring the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man home with me. I bet they'd be great fun to have happy hour with.

Today I have a low key day. Hope to get in a walk to top off my exercise minutes for the week and I plan on playing with my watercolors and making Valentine's day cards for the grands. Then we are meeting the kids and grands for dinner and I will bring the grands home to spend the night. They are off for the holiday tomorrow and we volunteered to keep them overnight and through the workday tomorrow.

QoTD: I was going to say Craftsman (which my house is) or Art Deco, but as I thought about it, I decided I like everything. Except Communist Era buildings. I learned that while I was in Bulgaria. There is a reason the call any art related to that as Brutalist.

Menu today

B: 1/4 of the avo calling my name, egg, mozz cheese. I'll pan grill up the mozz and make it my taco shell

L: leftovers from my yummy tacos last night

D: Sammy's for dinner. We'll have a couple of salads with proteins on the table and a couple pizzas. I'll eat mostly salad and the toppings off one slice of 4 cheese pizza. Yum.

Peace Everybody!

42 - ha! Here in Wisconsin if we break 42 in the winter (or even early spring), you'll see the occasional college student walking around in shorts..

Hey gang. I think the cold is working toward us. It's 42 right now, but starting this evening it won't break freezing again for at leat a week. It's not cold like most are getting. High of 30 during the day, lows maybe to the high teens, 20 at night. But we are only maybe 15-20 miles from the ocean, as the crow flies. And the ocean temp never drops below 40 on the coldest day. We might get half a dozen days a year in the single digits or less.

QOTD: I like most styles, if they are designed by someone who knows what they're doing. I'd probably pick shingle style for a bigger house, maybe arts and crafts for a small home. But I dearly love a classic New England barn. But that would need a colonial house to go with it. Here's my favorite barn. They currently have it jacked way up to put a new foundation in, and replace the sils.
