What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good Thursday Morning All!!! JB super excited for you and your potential jobs. Time
The president/CEO of my company is here visiting the plant. His plan is to visit all the different facilities in the company during the month of January. That includes all the waste to energy plants, the hauling companies, the rail companies, the landfills both ash and trash, and the transfer stations. He has a lot of traveling to do, but he is a really down to earth guy and interested in meeting everyone.
Sunday is my husband's 66th birthday. He knows I will make him anything he wants so on the menu is Ricotta/spinach stuffed manicotti, Italian chicken sausage with onions and peppers, apple pie, coffee ice cream and wine. But tonight, I'm going to surprise him with a Friendly's peanut butter cup ice cream cake his favorite. He deserves treats once in a while. :)
QOTD: I've had my Toyota IM since 2017 when Irvin traded in his Harley for a reliable car for me. The Harley was paid off, but he just didn't ride it much. He got 15K for it towards the IM and 1% interest the monthly payment was $150 and was paid off in 2022. It has 157K miles and just about all of it is highway. I really love this car and hope to have it for a very long time.
B: coffee with raw milk 1 hardboiled egg
L: seafood salad on a lettuce wrap
D: oven baked chicken halves
Have a wonderful day everyone.

I try to bring DH a special every day I pop out the office. Still till this day he is surprised when I bring something. You think he would get used to it. Sound like a lovely dinner. Is the Italian Chicken sausage homemade?

No it's not. I get Alfresco brand chicken sausage they have several different kinds. I actually use the spicy Jalapeno one when I make Jalapeno poppers. I crumble up the sausage and mix it with cream cheese then stuff the pepper and wrap in bacon. Out of all the chicken sausages out there this brand is the lowest in sugar and carbs and actually tastes really good.
You still have a Friendly's? I've been talking about Fribbles for the past 2 weeks. It's probably been 20 years since I had one. And it would probably kill me. But worth it.

There used to be one right in Webster, MA, but it closed late last year. There are a bunch of other ones in MA, NH, and CT that are still open. I'll actually be getting the ice cream cake from Stop and Shop since they sell Friendly's and Carvel cakes.
I looked it up. There were once over 500 Friendly's, and there are 119 remaining. We used to have 4 here in our town. Now there are none.
The closest are in Weymouth and Plymouth.

Mornin' All!
we got about 2" of snow overnight, so more shoveling this morning. We'll have a break today, but it's supposed to start up again tonight - they're predicting even more snow than we got yesterday. And the weekend is supposed to be frigid (10 F). Crap. I hate winter so much!!! Today we're planning to go over to MIL's apt to make another dent in it, since we may not be able to get over there again for the next couple of days.
QOTD: for the last 30 years or so, we've purchased cars that were 2-3 years old with very low mileage and then kept them for c. 15 years - or until they were too expensive to fix (given the blue book value). Although we've always had Toyotas (2) and Hondas (5) (some of these from before we met) - and those brands tend to last forever. Right now we have a 2015 Honda Civic (59K miles), a 2013 Honda Civic (155K miles - DH commutes 45 miles one way to work), and we just inherited my MIL's 2007 Honda CRV (113K - she was retired this whole time so she didn't drive very much - or often). We'll likely be good for quite a while yet. But to answer the question directly, we've had the 2015 Civic for five years, the 2013 Civic for eight years, I think, and we just transferred the title to the 2007 CRV last Friday.
B: plain skyr with cranberry sauce, rye crumpet with butter and SF jam, coffee with half & half
MS: if needed, a protein shake
L: I'll have to take something over to MIL's - unless I just have low-fat granola (she has tons of it that she ordered from Amazon. It's very good...). Should probably have some protein as well - yogurt or a couple of cheese sticks, maybe
AS: ??
D: I was thinking of making hot & sour soup if we get back home in time. And maybe a piece of the rosemary einkorn bread I made yesterday (although I was inhaling it yesterday, so I really need to watch it today. It was great!!)
have a great day, everyone!
Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Glad to hear your success on the interview, but that knee has got to get some real medical attention. I am sorry. I think it is more than you think. Try to get advice from Grimms Ortho when you're in there the next time. I always ask my doctors advise for DH when I am in there. The worst that could happen is he does not answer.
Not sure if I'll be busy here at work today or not. I need an Aldi run I am out of fruit. Hopefully Strawberrys are back. I know no one has them in January but it is usually only about 3 weeks.
QOTD: My car is a 2019 but probably got it in 2018. This is the car I had all the trouble with and ended up winning a lemon law case. I still hate the car but honestly it is still not paid off. Only reason is it was 0% financing and I ain't giving Ford any more money up front than I need to. I usually trade at 50,000. This already has 63,000. I would get a new one but I was hoping the market would bounce back and prices would come down. Also, I am so conflicted on what to buy. I know I want another SUV and not a Ford. Nothing really is catching my eye except the Genisis but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend that much on a car. On the other hand, my resolution is to spend it while I am still here on earth. Maybe I will look in the spring.
Accountability: I did have an old fashion with dinner I ate Fried rice balls for my dinner, and I had 1/2 of a Creme Brulee. I did have a nice visit with my friends.
TSS: 6 years 1-months 0-days 163.2 Lowest (129.4)
B: Coffee with SF ID Caramel Macchiato creamer
MS: L&F Creme brulee Greek yogurt, clementines.
CB: Coffee with SF ID Caramel Macchiato creamer
L: chili and snack select
D: rest of the zucchini lasagna
Exercise: Dog walk and you never know I may hit the elliptical or tread mill.
Water and Vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and 500mg of Magnesium. I also use MiraLAX and fiber in my first coffee of the day.
Have a great day my friends.
Brightest Blessings,
Chrissy
