What's on your Thursday Menu?

Good Morning! Bert and I are ready to get into some stuff today!
Thanks for your advice on the QOTD2 yesterday. I spent the morning thinking through my answers to those, and to some that I had Chat GPT generate for me, and I was completely prepared. The conversation was great and within an hour I was already invited to the next interview (tomorrow!). I'm excited--the job itself sounds great.
I need to keep my leg up in the air for the majority of the day today. My knee is a mess and I don't know why but when I got out of bed, my knee felt like it buckled and it really hurts a lot when I put my weight on it. Hopefully a little rest this morning will help. Other than that, we are going to lunch with a friend, but that's the only plan, I think.
QOTD: How long have you had your car? Historically, I spent so much time in my car that I usually traded them in after 1 - 2 years. I got this one in 2018 and since I had it throughout COVID and grad school, I've been able to keep milage low and there's been no reason to trade it in :)

Good mornin y'all. Glad to hear things went well QJB!
It's a stay at home day here. My pain levels are just so so high. My left leg feels like it's in a vice grip that won't let up. So I've been up for a long while. Maybe 3 hours of sleep total. After I post this I may try to lay down with my heated blanket.
Our house nearly caught fire yesterday. The filament on our stove gave out and was sparking badly. Thankfully I caught it before it got outside the oven. Scary for sure. Now we'll either need a new oven or if we can do the filament ourselves that'd be great because we can't afford the new oven nor an electrician to fix and or install one. Thankfully we have a nice toaster one/air fryer for some things. My mom and me talked the other day and e have a plan for when we'll move. Two of our dogs are older and the middle one is not likely to make it another year. He has lived rough(jumping off the porch like a wild idiot) and he is our biggest dog. Skippy the chihuahua is about 14 we think. Once the animals are either gone or manageable we'll move. We're going to start going through our crap and downsize. We want to live in an apartment. This is huge guys. My mom has finally realized we can't upkeep this house. It needs so much work. Our only heaters are three wall units that are gas flame stoves. It gets cold. For the summer we have to have window units put up every year. The house needs the duct work because there is none. The outside needs a lot of work too. The yard is huge. It's just too much. We're also tired of the neighborhood, the lack of police coverage and living along side a major highway.
QOTD: I haven't had my own car since I was 22.
B: eggs and coffee
L: chicken tortilla soup
D: salad.
forces there and another pic of the bracelet I finished the other day,

Fire is one of my biggest fears so glad you caught that. I am glad she's agreed to get out of there. You both deserve better. You should be able to get the element in Amazon and I think you just unplug the old and plug in the new. I know DH replaced ours easily in the past.

I bought a Ford Fusion in 2018 And it was the last year that ford made the fusion. I have put very little mileage on it and no plans to replace it. For years I did replace cars every 2 years. Because of my age I may never buy another car and just use ride shares instead.
Mel, I am so glad your mom has come around. An apartment will be so much less stress for both of you.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Helloooo from Peachtree City, America! My company in person kickoff is in full swing and being new, it's pretty amazing to hug all the folks I see on zoom everyday! The food, as expected, is terrible, so I'm just munching on snacks every few hours. Hummus. Cheese. Pretzels. The insides of a turkey sandwich. But, it means my meals are unplanned and unknown. I'm just popping in to say hi!
QOTD: ooooh this is so interesting. When I was two years out of college I started working at the VW headquarters. As an employee, we could lease cars at 1% of the MSRP monthly, and it included insurance! So, a $20,000 Jetta cost me $200 a month, AND we got new cars every 6-9 months. New. So id be like oh I want an Audi A4 for winnter and a Beetle convertible for summer. I felt so spoiled. Until I got a Director role and my car and insurance and GAS were free. The cars were better too! So I had at least two new cars a year. When I left there, after 7 years, I bought a Jetta and kept it for 13 years! Living in dc, I rate drove so it only had 80,000 miles on it. Now I'm driving a car I bought from my parents when my stepdads dementia got bad, and it's a 2010 with 180,000 miles but still kicking it. I literally have not had a car payment since 2002 and I dread the day I will have one. I fear I have champagne tastes ("oooh the new Mercedes C class is cute!") on a Trader Joe's wine budget ("HOW MUCH per month?!"). Ha.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

i was looking at a VW Tiguan the other day, for an SUV they have almost no clearance but they look fun. I would have been like you and new car all the time if I had that option!
