I know the feeling. But now that my son has a truck, he's the mover.

Good morning, everybody!

So, a couple of weeks ago Marilyn says to me "for your Christmas present do you want to go and see U2 play at the Sphere?" I said that sounded awesome, but I cannot take any more vacation time in 2024 than what I have already booked. So we decided to just go for a weekend. She bought the tickets for Saturday February 10th. Then she booked the air. No problem. Decided we don't need a rental car since we are just going for the weekend and the airport is close to downtown.

And then she went to find a hotel. We discussed some hotels that we knew (we are far from experts but have been a couple of times, Marilyn more because of tennis). Threw a few names out and Marilyn went to book a reservation. Nothing is available at any of the places we suggested. WTF? There are always hotel rooms in Las Vegas. So she went on one of the aggregator sites and found a room in a hotel that we were not familiar with for an insane amount. At this point, we are committed, so we went ahead and booked it.

Later, I am wondering why it was so expensive and there are no rooms available, and it hit me: "I bet that's Super Bowl weekend?" People must be going to party and bet on the game! Half right. I looked it up on the Interwebs, and not only is it Super Bowl weekend, but the game is being played in Las Vegas.

I've been to the Super Bowl before, and while fun, is not worth the cost unless somebody else is paying. And its not like an elimination tournament where people who had tickets find out at the last minute that the team they root for lost. So we aren't going to try and go to the game. But we will be there for the pre-game hype before flying out of town right around kickoff on Sunday. Hopefully, we can find dinner and brunch reservations amidst all of the hoopla.

We will fly out on Saturday morning, have an early dinner, go to the concert, and probably go to the casino on Saturday night unless there is a free pep parade or something, have brunch on Sunday and fly home. Should be fun.

It's supposed to start snowing tonight, so I plan to be home from work early and snuggled up inside the house. Marilyn is making Jambalaya and we will watch the College Football Championship. I guess that we will root for Michigan. I think that it will be a close game.

QOTD: I did not. Football and murders.

Breakfast: Protein Bar

Lunch: Catered

Dinner: Jambalaya

Have a great day, all!
