Mornin' All!

yea my bariatric clinic evidently decided to push all its longer-term, no-complications patients off on their PCP's, since several of us who keep in touch got that message after our last annual follow-up appointment (mine was back in July). I suppose at this point there are just too many post-op patients, so they're only dealing with newer ones and those with issues. That's fine. My PCP will just address it at my standard annual exams, plus order the bloodwork. It'll save me some co-pays and deductibles. Plus several of us go to the same PCP, so she knows the deal.

we got a TON of stuff done yesterday at MIL's. Car transfer is done. More places contacted. I managed to get through her file cabinet and got everything either recycled, put in folders, or put in the pile for shredding (shredding is on the agenda for today - plus I'll start taking some things to second hand stores). My XS friend from the history dept came over yesterday afternoon and went wild with MIL's clothes and stuffed two trash bags full of them to take home with her. She said she has a really hard time finding clothes in her size, so she was elated to find she was the same size as MIL. There were a lot of beautiful clothes - many from places like Talbot and some new with the tags still on. So she made out like a bandit! I just wish she'd taken more - there are still A LOT of clothes in the closet and drawers, and I don't know anyone else who's as small as my friend (and MIL). I sort of hate to dump them at a second hand store, but then, at least SOMEONE will enjoy them! Our local humane society has a thrift store - and so does hospice - so I think MIL would be glad that some of her things went there, since the proceeds go to those two places.

QOTD: we've belonged to our local YMCA for probably 20 years. There are three branches in town, and I go to all three (but mostly to the one that's five minutes from our house). DH doesn't go very often, but I'm there at least once a week - esp in the winter. I go to water fitness classes, occasionally to dance cardio classes (like Zumba), and use some of the cardio equipment. I used to use the weight machines, too, but haven't in awhile. I do my PT exercises and resistance bands for strength training, although I really need to step up on this.

I did great with food yesterday until about 8:00 last night when I had a huge bowl of ice cream. An hour or so later I felt dizzy and lightheaded - probably RH. Haven't had that in quite awhile, but I was just asking for it after that ice cream (I can eat some of it without ill effects, but I probably had 1.5 cups of it - WAY too much...). So then I had to have some protein (2 things of yogurt) to try to offset the effects. Yogurt is a fine choice ordinarily - but that meant even MORE calories. Ugh. Hopefully I learned my lesson...

B: coffee with half & half. I am not hungry AT ALL, so I'll hold off on anything else

MS: maybe just a protein shake? I want to take advantage of feeling very full, even though I last ate almost 12 hours ago!

L: yogurt or hummus and baby carrots over at MIL's apt

AS: ??

D: the last of the Indian lentil curry, I guess

have a great day, everyone!

HOw about donating the clothes to a Womens Shelter? Or one for families. As the clothes are XS maybe a teen could also fit some of them.

good idea - I'll add it to my short list of places to donate to! (I don't want to bombard any one place since she's got A LOT of stuff! I already took a couple of garbage bags full of clothes to the humane society's thrift store. Will likely take more over there later on since she was a huge animal lover and used to volunteer for an animal rescue place. I was also planning on taking some to a thrift store run by one of the hospice agencies, too, since she was one of their clients. And one of the care facilities where she did rehab also has one (and she liked that place, too). A women's shelter is a great idea, too! Thanks!
