Hello and Happy Thursday to my favorite people!

I got some sad news yesterday. I found out yesterday that my surgeons' office is closing and my surgeon is going to be a full time professor of surgery at Tufts. I had my lapband with her in 2008 and my revision after a terrible complication in 2015. I trust her completely and really love her as a person and I will be incredibly sad to lose her. So now I need to look for a new PCP and a bariatric practice :(

Yesterday was a lovely day. Lots of fun with Grim, plus I made some cute cookies and did some errands. Yay! Today we are heading into Boston for a follow up with his knee surgeon. It's kind of crazy that this is his first follow up, right?

In other news, I am reading the craziest book, in case anyone else is interested. It's called Capote's Women--a non fiction book about the high society women who Truman Capote befriended and wrote a book about. My jaw is on the floor about the insane affairs and bad decisions that everyone makes and pretty much every single celebrity name that you'd recognize from the 1940s is tangled up in the stories. It's just wild.

QOTD: Who belongs to a gym? I was a member of Planet Fitness for about 5 years and I liked it there. It was a low cost, very big, conveniently located, and rarely crowded. I canceled when COVID hit and since then we have acquired all of the machines and currently have a treadmill, elliptical, recumbent bike, and rower.

Accountability: Damn it--I was 100% perfect all day and then I fell into a pile of crackers at 7:30pm. Stupid stupid stupid.

  • protein coffee
  • mango Greek yogurt
  • TBD - lunch out after Grim's appointment again.
  • either leftovers from lunch or chicken

Good morning and happy Thursday!

Sorry about your doctor but on the plus side you might find one that believes in iron infusions! When I moved, I didn't find a new bariatric practice, I just found a GP that was willing to order the labs that I needed and had a bariatric practice she was comfortable consulting if necessary.

Is that book the one being make into the series Fued: Capote vs The Swans? I think it's on Hulu or Netflix. They did a first season that was about Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.

QoTD - no, I have all the equipment I need at home and I have a personal trainer once a week. I do subscribe to several virtual training programs as well so I get challenged.

Nothing too big going on today, we're supposed to get some snow, a busy meeting day, I will get in a rowing session and pilates after work. I'm feeling very blah and low energy so not sure I will do much besides what's required for today. If one of the books I'm waiting for comes in to the library, I might run out and pick it up...or I might wait until tomorrow and grab it before I go to my trainer.

menu

coffee plus half and half

ham and cheese slider

I didn't make the burger yesterday so I could make it today....but that seems like too much effort right now, lol. I'l just all it a mostly unplanned day and leave it at that.

Have a terrific Thursday everyone!!

Good morning, peoples. The snow blower starts! I didn't use it at all last year, but it still started right up. I still don't think we'll get much snow on Sunday, but we're moving into this two month period where we normally get hit.

I've got PT shortly, then a follow-up with the knee surgeon's office, including x-rays. Then we'll hopefully have time for lunch somewhere before heading home. We go right by one of JB's favorite places.

We finished season 2 of The Gilded Age yesterday. It's very good, but a little predictable. I definitely recommend it.

QOTD: I joined a gym in 2012, after RNY. I was really only interested in the weight machines, wanting preserve as much muscle mass as I could while losing. But it's been 9 or ten years since I was a member. Based on how difficult it was to quit, I'm not anxious to join another gym.

I am still very interested in buying your wood boxes. When you get well, please let me know. I have the perfect place for it. I been wanting to replace a stupid basket for years but never saw anything better. Now I am obsessed with getting one of your boxes.

Good morning ~ Safe travels to Boston today. My original surgeon left the practice, but the center remained so I was able to continue with them thankfully. Doctors are leaving is droves around here and are hard to find. Still no legit PCP found, but I am a part of a hospital office of rotating PAs/doctors to see when I need. Not the same but it gets the job done. I feel like I am fighting something off. I'm tired, headachy and feeling dehydrated but there is no reason for it because I'm drinking so much water. Hopefully it's nothing. Today at work I have a couple of meetings, reports galore and walking with a friend at lunch. Hopefully I will meet my step goal and make up for the past 2 days (800+500 short). Maybe I'll average my daily steps so I can have some flexibility on busy work days? Maybe I need to change that goal to work better for me? I'll give it some thought.

Anderson Cooper talks about Capote a lot in Vanderbilt. I've always thought to read up but never added to my list - done. Thanks for the reccomend!

QOTD - Yes, Planet Fitness. I re-joined in May to use the hydromassage tables and went only twice. I want to start using their machines for a good weight workout once a week soon. Otherwise I have the machines I want at home - a treadmill and the vault, also rogue bands and the rebounder. I think about getting the Nordictrack rower freebee deal and I'd love a pilates reformer, but don't have the room. Unless I'm willing to give up parking in the garage and that is a hard no.

Accountability - great no extra bites. 187.1 today

b-coffee x 4

l- buffalo chicken w/celery and pickles

d- ham and cheese omelet, hash brown patty

s - beef jerky

Both my reformer and rower will stand up against the wall to take up less space. I have them in the basement so I don't need to but my trainer keeps two of the reformers in her living room and they go up and down easily!
