Goooood Morning and Happy Hump Day! Thanks for all the love on my craft / cookie room. I am thrilled about how user friendly it is right now. I've been able to crank out lots of new pretty designs and I am feeling very happy and accomplished :)

Well, Jim called it--even though the Trader Joe's parking lot is huge, it was still a total nightmare. In fact, if the parking lot was smaller maybe it would have been better because the store was insanely crowded. It was 11am on a Tuesday after a holiday week, so I would have thought it would be empty but I couldn't even get up to the refrigerators because every inch of the store was 3 people deep and there was a lot of elbowing and apologizing. I grabbed a few things but it was impossible to browse, so I got out pretty quickly without trying anything new. I was annoyed but it was probably for the best :)

Today I am going out to get some bloodwork done, and head to the post-office to send off a package. That's about the extent of my out-of-the-house excitement. Otherwise... cookies. Yay.

QOTD: Do you shop at thrift store for clothes? I almost never find clothes my size at a thrift store. When I was down to a size 0 I had some good luck but otherwise finding petite clothes is almost impossible and not worth the effort of looking. When I was much younger and living near Harvard Square there were very cool thrift stores that targeted Harvard students where I could find very cool scarves, purses, jewelry, and other non-sized accessories, but that's about the last thing I need right now so I haven't been to one in years.

Accountability: I got 3 chicken street tacos for lunch when we were out and that was lunch and dinner. I had about 6 of Grim's French fries, too.

  • protein coffee
  • veggie frittata
  • spinach salad
  • mango greek yogurt
  • chicken

Mornin y'all!

Not a whole lot happening today. I might have an appointment with my peer support person if she can work it in. Our usual is Mondays and with the pst two being holidays we wanted to try for it this week. We have a chance for a snow storm tomorrow evening and Monday next week. The temp forecast keeps creeping downward. Yuck. If I didn't need to be anywhere it'd be great but January is a busy month appointment wise. The people around here think since they have big vehicles they need no skill to drive in bad conditions. We have the kids overnight.

I finished a bracelet 5 mins before bed time last night that I am in love with. It's just so slick. So happy with it. I just wish the jumprings supplier had done the cuts better on the smallest sizes. I have to write them today. Will attach a not so great photo at the end. Better light later this morning should be better photo time.

QOTD: when I can find stuff yes. It's nearly impossible to find pants that aren't men's. Because women can't be tall you know. Shirts are hard too since most of my height is in my abdomen. I still need long inseam pants but also high waist if I don't want them rolling down. I loathe the lower waist cuts for my body. If I can find tunic length stuff it's good but most things are not.

We made poppers yesterday and it made me sick. I ended up throwing up. I actually think it was the chicken I had for dinner as it was just the slightest bit dry. I also had two sugar cookies this morning. I need to get my **** together food wise. Me being a dumbass isn't hurting anyone but me. My A1c only went down .6% so it's 7.6%

Mornin' All!

well my weight stayed the same this week (vs last week) and given the fact I've been eating all that trail mix at MIL's apt (thank god it's finally GONE!), I was pleasantly surprised by that. I'm still at the top end of my range, but at least it didn't go up any more. Hopefully it'll be down hill from here (at least it should be easier without that trail mix - although I could have just tossed it - but N-O-O-O-O...)

we met with our estate attorney yesterday. Given DH is an only child, and he's listed as the sole beneficiary on all of her stuff, and she kept excellent records, this case should be pretty cut and dry. Still a huge pain, but it could have been A LOT worse if those things weren't true. Today we'll transfer the title to her car and add it to our insurance policy (why she had so much insurance on a 15-year-old car is beyond me. Evidently she never adjusted her coverage after buying the thing 15 years ago). We have no need for three cars, though, so we'll probably sell hers or DH's - although I'm a bit apprehensive about putting a car out on craigslist or FB Marketplace. You hear about people getting robbed - or people getting screwed. Another option is to sell it to the Honda dealership, although then you don't get as much for it. Ugh. I hate dealing with this kind of thing. I guess we could first try putting it on our neighborhood's Facebook page to see if anyone might be interested in buying an older car (that's in decent shape and has been well-maintained) for their high school or college kid. I'd feel OK about posting it there...

QOTD: I buy almost everything at second hand stores except for underwear, pajamas, and swimsuits (also leggings - but they're hard to find at second hand stores, and they're pretty cheap at regular stores). But then I wear a pretty common size - 12 or 14 (or L - but depending on the brand, it could be a M or XL). Those are all really common sizes, so there's usually a lot of stuff available in those sizes.

B: coffee with half & half, crumpet with butter & jam, L&F yogurt

MS: protein shake

L: hummus with baby carrots

AS: maybe another L&F yogurt - although I was thinking of making some plain popcorn to deal with trail mix withdrawal (it's crunchy and fun)

D: Indian lentil curry topped with plain Greek yogurt

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning, everybody!

First hump day of the New year. QJB, Im glad that you made it home safely.

I made it into the office yesterday. I didn't really accomplish anything and spent most of the day either (a) talking to my friends on the telephone, or (b) looking at my benefits. But apparently, I did better than most because there were only 3 other people in our 35 person department. It's a process.

I didn't do Fran last night, instead I did a longer slower workout with rowing, slam balls, kettlebell swings, jumping pull-ups and Man Makers with 20 pound dumbbells. The workout, and a Carhardt hat that was in my car, warmed me up enough so that I could go to the store and get Marilyn a box of ice cream sandwiches. She is still recovering from her cold.

Today is a return to Wednesday normalcy: lifting at 8:00, work from home, Happy Hour tonight.

QOTD: I look at things on The Real Real sometimes.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Roast Beef (First Jersey Mike's of the New Year)

Dinner: Maybe leftover meatballs

Have a great day, all!
