In several cross country moves, I have found DAV and Vinnie's to be the best for donating large or lots of items, they were both really good about coordinating the pick ups, making sure they had the details of what was being picked up so they could send enough people and the right size truck

I noticed on SVDP's Web site that also take any clothing, even torn clothing, because they recycle what they don't think they can sell. I'm thinking that might include underwear? I'll ask them. I know most places don't accept it at all or only if it's still in the manufacturer's package, but if SVDP just sends whatever they don't want to a recycling place, they might take it.
I've never seen the DAV do that sort of thing around here. St. Vincent de Paul was very big when I was younger. But it's been years since I've seen anything about them. For a while there was amorphous "Catholic Charities" instead. But the Catholic Church here has cut way back on so many things.

I can see having to cut back a lot when you are paying a ga-jillion dollars in settlements. I am a bit ambivalent about Vinnie's because I am a recovered Catholic but I utilized them when I was younger and I tell myself that it's helping people who need it. DAV is my first choice though.
