I have kuchisabishii a lot. Right now, in fact, I'm thinking about food. Why? I'm not hungry at all - in fact, I'm feeling bloated. So why on earth would I thinking about food? I need to ask myself this every time...

Good morning, everybody!

I think that Elle King may be my Spirit Animal.

I want to wish all of my menu friends a wonderful, safe, and healthy 2024.

We stayed home last night. I don't think that we have gone out more than once or twice on New Years in the 38 years that we have been dating/married. After 2 1/2 weeks of cruising, kids home and parties with friends, we were ready to stay at home and watch TV. Also Marilyn has a cold. So we had spaghetti and Rose Champagne, watched football and got caught up on Jack Reacher season 2.

Today is mostly football. Our gym went to an App that allows entrance while the facility is unstaffed and I may try that later this afternoon. As much to see if it works as to accomplish anything specific. Possibly i will get the Price is Right for my trip with Matt.

QOTD: I'm about halfway through Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but it didn't seem like something one reads on Christmas, so I put it down for a bit. I have one more book from my Folio Society order, that I need to read. It's about World War 2, but the specifics I do not recall. I got some new books for Christmas that I will read: 2 about fly fishing, a Financial Planning book from a blog that I follow called Buy This Not That, 2 books on Cambodia for our trip next fall, It starts with Food by the Whole 30 lady, the new Jack Reacher book and Jeff Shaara's book about the Battle of Midway. I will watch the new series of True Detective that starts in Mid-January. Musically, I live in the past.

Food will probably be leftovers or takeout.

have a great day, all!

Yes, I think it's set in a cold climate during winter.

"Buy This Not That". I'll look for this one. Sounds like the title idea came from "Eat This Not That".

Good morning! I won the dialing for birthday wishes lottery and my son actually picked up the phone at the stroke of midnight and I had a hilarious 2 minute conversation with him. Today my test kid is 42. I have always called him my test kid because I had him at 19 and didn't know a thing about what the hell I was doing. So I tested everything out on him. He turned pretty dang good, so I'm feeling accomplished. But 42! Feels so weird since I usually think I am about 40. Until I see a mirror that is.

I don't do resolutions. But I do set a few intentions. This year, I'd like to be more intentional about being nice in my sometimes *****y voice in my head, sending more cards for no reason to people that I love and like and continue to build on my exercise for strength and balance.

We have zero plans for today and I've already cleaned out the freezer due to a small spill I created last night that spread into every crack and cranny. Not sure how a little wine in a plastic tub going into the freezer for future stews created such a mess, but it was like a blood bath in there when I opened it up this morning. I'm thinking maybe a walk today and I need/want to pop into the grocery store for kosher salt. Exciting stuff!

QoTD: I don't but I keep adding all of yours to my watch/read list.

Menu today is going to be on point. Roger gained back a pound over this holiday weekend. Part of me wants to say HA! But the new intentional part of my brain says we shall tackle this together. He's still down 10 pounds in less than 3 weeks. 15 to go to his first goal.

B: egg, 1 piece of bacon, 1 25 cal zero carb tortilla and a tiny bit of cheddar cheese and tomato

L: while cleaning out the freezer I found a single serving of chicken couscous I made. Yay.

D: 4 oz pork chop, small salad, 1/4 cup TJ's gnocchi

water and 5 calorie fruit punch only for fluids today.

Peace Everybody!
