^^New jealousy unlocked - snowman weight loss!^^

Good Morning and Happy Lil Fri. Thank goodness my computer tells me what day it is because I am getting further and further from reality over here!

Yesterday I decided to really tear apart my craft room and try to make it a legit cookie room so that I don't need to take over the dining room for decorating again. When I built the craft room, I was only dabbling in cookies at the time and since then I have accumulated a LOT of **** that has no home. I got a lot done, but I decided I needed another piece of furniture from IKEA to pull it all together, so I am picking it up today and hope to get the room finished! I was really good about doing a little at a time yesterday, taking a lot of rest time put my knee up, and it feels pretty good today! I'm really hoping not to overdo it.

QOTD: Are you good about cleaning out your fridge for expired condiments? Nope. Our pretty new fridge came yesterday and I threw away about 20 items that ranged in expiration from 2018 - 2022. Mark my words -- I am NEVER allowed to buy salad dressing again!

Accountability: Eh. I had too many carbs but mostly decent choices.

  • Protein coffee
  • Egg Bites
  • Inside of tacos
  • Carmelized onion chicken burger

Mornin' All-

well my MIL died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon. We knew it was coming given her medical condition, but not this soon! We figured we'd have her until this summer at least. But she started to decline and went down really quickly. The hospice nurse told DH that she was starting to transition, but that it could be a couple of days up to a couple of weeks. She passed just after the nurse left - in fact, the nurse was still in the parking lot walking toward her car when Greg called her (and of course she came right back up to the apt). So we've got a lot on our plate for the next few weeks. DH is an only child, and so was his mother - and his father died c. 50 years ago - so we're kind of it. Well, we ARE it. I don't think we're ready to start really going through her apt yet and figuring out what to do with everything, but there are a handful of things that we need to do today and tomorrow. And luckily, one of her home health aides was madly in love with MIL's cat and wanted to know if she could adopt her if we couldn't find a home. Of course! (we couldn't really take her - we already have four cats, a couple of whom hate each other - so our house would not be an ideal environment). So I'm glad we at least have a plan for the kitty.

not much in other news since this has pretty much taken over our lives the last few hours - and will for the next few days and weeks.

QOTD: No - I just toss them when I discover them while looking for something else. Although some things, like mustard, are probably good for a long time after they've expired. We used to clean out our fridge every couple of months, but now sometimes five or six months go by before we think of it...

I did really well with food yesterday and am hoping for a repeat today.

B: coffee with half & half, protein muffin

MS: protein shake or Ratio yogurt

L: salad with chicken strips

AS: we'll probably be at MIL's apt - so likely nothing

D: Indian lentil curry topped with plain yogurt

have a great day, everyone!

Sympathies to your husband, it seemed he was very close to her. At least you had a recent family christmas for him to remember. Good news on the cat.
