Merry Christmas Eve!

Mornin y'all! Somehow it is Christmas Eve! There are creatures stirring as a cat just hacked. Merry Christmas to me? LOL
I doubt I'll be on the iPad much tomorrow so I wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a great week ahead. I don't know about you but I'm ready to put this craptastic year behind me. It wasn't all bad but my health issues can stay in the past as far as I'm concerned. I have more to go through this coming year but I'll face it head on like always. I'm going to try and be more positive about the things going well in my life.
Today I'll make the banana pudding and a lemon pie. I might make the brownies too but that remains to be figured out. The oven will be occupied tomorrow so it most likely will be today. We do need to get bananas today and maybe a small bottle of milk. I think it might be best to do the banana pudding in the morning. I need to figure out the cinnamon rolls(we cheated and got the frozen Rhodes ones that need to be thawed and to let rise). I'll do a light cleaning including vacuuming.
The pain meds are helping! They are not making me as hyper but I'm still pretty wired. My legs are hurting this morning, we got almost 2 inches of rain yesterday so I'm guessing that's among the reasons for increased pain.
I want to thank y'all for the support here. Though this was a difficult year it seemed a lighter load with the support of y'all and all my friends. We are all very lucky to have this place.
QOTD: what did you get yourself for the holidays?
Not much here as I am broke until the 29th. Then I'll be getting myself a couple of pairs of pliers. I am in need of them so that'll be my splurge. They are about 15 bucks a pair so they aren't to bad. I did buy a chocolate "orange" and a very small bag of chocolate covered espresso beans. I shared the first with my mom but the last one is mine! I still have over 3/4 of the bag left.

Mornin' All!
well as usual, I'll be making the traditional Christmas lasagna today, as well as some rosemary sourdough bread. I'm not doing a cheesecake this year - too much work - so we'll have ice cream with chocolate sauce (I'll make the latter) and some cookies I have stashed in the freezer (some homemade - some are rugelach I picked up at a deli in Chicago a few months ago). I'll make a salad tomorrow. So anyway, a somewhat busy day today. It'll be warm, so I'll probably go for a long walk if it's not raining. I need the exercise.
QOTD: we don't do gifts any more, and that includes gifts to myself - although I didn't do that very often in the past, either.
B: coffee with half & half, L&F yogurt, and either a bannock or a crumpet with butter and jam
MS: protein shake
L: leftover falafel salad from yesterday's lunch out (it was basically a salad with vinaigrette dressing topped with a few falafels that had been cut in half)
AS: Ratio yogurt?
D: salad with chicken breast strips
have a great day - and a good Christmas Eve/Christmas to those of you who celebrate!
Chocolate sauce was the first recipe I ever made. I was about seven and had a children's cookbook and my mother let me follow it and make the sauce. I remember it was made with unsweetened chocolate that I melted on the stove in a little saucepan. No microwaves in 1955. I also remember that it was way too rich and gave me an upset stomach. I did not eat chocolate sauce again until I was in my teens and a friends introduced me to hot fudge sundaes.
Your Christmas dinner sounds wonderful. I love lasagna and love ricotta. People around here made their lasagna without ricotta and just fill it with mozzerella and I find it so disappointing. A dish of pasta and melted mozzerella is not my idea of lasagna. Enjoy your walk.

Good morning and happy Christmas Eve!
I have to run out and get some type of hostess gift for tomorrow, my friend that hosts is on a no sugar-no dairy-no alcohol diet since December 1 and is doing very well (it's a 60 day thing) so I don't want to derail her, she also gets migraines from scents so flowers are out. I'm hoping for a pretty pine or orchid (I won't get a poinsettia because she has cats). It's a challenge.
QOTD - nothing really but I am thinking of a quick run by Home Depot on the 26th to see if there are any other decorations I need and a bigger bin for my christmas and halloween stuff.
I'll get in my 45 minute elliptical to get my virtual trophy and I will eat the other half of the eggnog scone with whisky glaze, otherwise a very chill day ahead of me and nothing else planned meal wise.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Good morning all. Happy Christmas eve! JB is off for the day, helping her dad shop for her mom's birthday. I'm going to do whatever I can to get the house ready for tomorrow. But I keep begging JB not to worry about making the place spic and span. It's just family, and I'm personally past trying to impress people. Be chill, have fun.
Speaking of fun, I just read this really fun little article on the history of the prime rib dinner. I enjoyed it. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/24/dining/christmas-prime-ri b.html
QOTD: I guess I've never thought in terms of buying myself a gift. If I need something, I buy it. I actually got an Amazon delivery at 5 am today. I really hated getting something delivered on Christmas eve. But I was out of Senokot. I guess that's the gift that keeps on giving?

That is a great article. I love prime rib and don't make it anymore because by myself and don't want the hassle of freezing a lot of leftovers. I used to go to a place that had great prime rib but it is no longer as good there. I am going to be hunting for a good place within 50 miles or so for a good dinner some night.

Good morning ~ Merry Christmas Eve! I can't believe I slept in until 6:30 this morning! Yesterday was a nice day, I got a lot done but no wrapping. Yes, I'm that lazy. I have no choice but to get it done today so it's all ready when the kids come over tomorrow. Tonight we are having a date night - dinner a movie - my tradition of watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas eve for for-ev-er. I'm very excited for this Christmas! My son is in love, so happy and his girlfriend will be here too. We have matching pajamas (yup), pastries, cocoa and coffee for breakfast. We'll watch A Christmas Story and have fake snowball fight. We have to be at my sisters mid afternoon for dinner. We are bringing fudge and pigs in a blanket. I'm looking forward to that as well.
QOTD - I did, I went a bit crazy with Portland Leather bags/wallets.
Accountability - switched some things around but stayed on plan making everything fit. I had TJ's hot jalapeno hatch green chili cheese dip w/some protein chips - so good!!! 190.2 today
I was very 'struggle hungry' yesterday and hope to avoid that today with a little calorie cushion.
B- coffeex2, fage 0% w/strawberries and Kind cinnamon granola
l- breakfast burrito - eggbeaters, cheese, chicken sausage l/c tortilla in air fryer
