Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

I'm so sorry you are feeling overwhelmed, and that family drama is on your plate. Can't that crap wait till after the holidays. Seriously. This too shall pass, but sucks when you're in the midst of it. Hopefully the broom making will get your mind off it.

I went to happy hour with my gym friends yesterday. I didn't realize how much I need to get back there. I am promising to do better starting next Tuesday. I just want Christmas behind me then smooth sailing. Any Survivor fans? Work husbands off today so I have no one to discuss it with. I need to get to Aldi for lunch today because we have a potluck here tomorrow. I plan on doing a crockpot dish with mini pierogi smoked sausage with cream cheese and cheddar. throw it in heat it up and voila. I don't feel like doing anything intricate I don't think it is appreciated anyway.

QOTD: Butter and cooking spray, peanut butter, and all ingredients for at least 1 cheesecake in case I need to pump one out. Now with the dog we have 10lb bags of leg quarters hoarded in the freezer and most recently purchased a 1/2 cow so freezer full of beef. This is only the 2nd time we bought a cow and this meat is 100 x better than the last one. I plan to stick with this farmer for sure.

Good morning!

The holidays are overwhelming in the best situations. Take a you day. And feel zero guilt. Self care is important.

Yesterday was good. I did 119 minutes of exercise. I FINALLY made it to the aqua fit version of pool work out. Seems it happens on Wednesdays, even though the schedule has it as T/W/TH. Dear Lord am I feeling it. It is hard work to push those dense foam barbells around in the water. The instructor did the work out to the 12 days of Christmas. The first day was 1 minute of "cross country skiing". She had a different exercise for each day, and we did each of the exercises for each round. So by day 12 we were doing 12 sets of things like jump back, jump forward, toes straight out of the water and land in a half jumping jack, 11 sets of lunges, 10 sets of underwater bicep curls, etc. I think I really loved the class and am making sure I get there on Wednesdays from now on. I also got in 30 minutes on the recumbent bike and 30 minutes on the treadmill at 3.8 mph.

My food grade was an A-. After Roger's Inspire appointment we stopped in at a party. I had no wine. But I had a brownie the size of my thumb and one square of chocolate. Other than that, I was very good. And dinner last night, people, that was a win. Next time I will add a little salt and pepper and Italian seasoning over the tomatoes and serve with fresh basil on top. Last night I microbladed a great pecorino over the top and will always do so again. It's on my menu list for the 10 days Dad is here.

QoTD: Roger is obsessive about ordering and stocking things. I hate when they take up too much room. But I do have about 7 different kinds of cooking oils and 5 different vinegars in the cabinet as well as make sure I always have beef jerky, so who am I to judge.

Exercise today will by my 3 mile walk route if I can dodge the rain. Or possibly pop over to the gym and finally try out the weight machine circuit they have set up.

Bites today are

B: last slice of meatloaf and cottage cheese with a little pecorino

L: leftover pesto chicken

D: pork chop and a new TJ mix of cauliflower, white butter beans and butternut squash in a cheddar cheese sauce.

Peace everybody!

QJB-I am sorry to hear that you are feeling down. Could it be that you have finished your cookies for the month and have nothing major to focus on? YOu seem to be a person who thrives on activity and business. Hopefully making brooms will cheer you up by keeping you busy. I am an emotional eater. I noticed during times of stress I want to eat and make bad choices. It is good to recognize your triggers but that doesn't make it easy to deal with.

Today I have an appointment with the physiatrist (provider who focuses on movement and function) for my foot drop issue. I am hoping that he will have something to add to correct this issue. The foot drop is slowly improving but not yet "normal" on either foot. I can walk without a cane now! The foot drop can also be linked to a nutritional deficiency in copper, so I am supplementing that as I was severely deficient. People with gastric surgeries are susceptible to this deficiency.

I still have a few presents to wrap. I have been waiting for them to arrive in the mail.

QOTD: when I was able to drink coffee, I had a big stockpile of the SB cold brew concentrate. Now I am supposed to avoid caffeine since it is a bowel stimulant. I had to give away hundreds of dollars in cold brew concentrate so it wouldn't expire.

Have a great day.

Aloha!!!

QJB - can I join you in hunkering down and ordering food? Maybe some sweets in addition to pizza? I'll give you the sole power to choose any movie you want.

Yesterday was a doozy and I'm still recovering.

  1. kids and DH landed in Kauai, but due to torrential rain and road closures were not able to get home. There is a one lane bridge between our town and the Hwy going to the rest of the island and it was under water. I am hoping the waters recede today and we can reunite. As soon as it's light outside I'll double check the roads.
  2. While dealing with rain and road closures I see a notification about somebody being on the side of our house in CA. I look and the guy looks like Argus Filch (the caretaker at Hogwarts) but with longer and grey-er hair. He goes past the camera and looks like through the gate to our backyard. So I panicked. First called the neighbors, the go check and noticed the side door to the garage is ajar, obv they won't go in, so we called the cops. Long story short they go through the whole house, inside and out and don't see anything. They lock the door and leave. My blood pressure was through the roof during that whole thing.

Hence, JB, I wanna be under the covers too not dealing with anything or anybody.

QOTD: books for sure. When my list is down to 3-4 books, in addition to what I'm reading, I get stressed. I need to have at least 7-8 back up books I can jump into after finishing what I'm reading. Skinny syrups and sauces. Funny story we don't have Walmart and on a fluke I had found 3 skinny sauces at Marshall but not anymore. I was reluctant to order online due to their price. So here in HI I found them at Walmart and I think half of my luggage weight will be skinny sauce, going back. Protein shakes are also hoarded. And I always always have hb eggs in the fridge. First action in the kitchen in Kauai was cooking 12 eggs to put in the fridge.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Barebells bar
  • Hb eggs, tuna & chips
  • Built bars, Xmas crack
  • some more snacking due to stress but I can't remember what

Happy almost Fri-yay!

QOTD- Usually Charmin Ultra TP, Puffs Plus and napkins. Also plastic bags.

I actually made it out of the house yesterday. It was cold but sunny but I only did about 1 1/4 mile, but at least I wasn't just sitting on my but****ching TV. And I was in the trees. I'm going to try to do another walk today, I also have a return for Amazon that I need to go to Whole Foods for. I also want to pick up some Whole Foods lip balm. It's my favorite.

I made a batch of ginger snaps, and managed to eat the whole thing. I blame it on my neighbors they brought some cookies and a card over and the ginger snaps were really good. Mine weren't as good, but I still ate them...

24 Hour Fitness raised my annual fee by a lot, so I need to get myself over there and actually use my membership. I really need to swim, I've missed it so much.

Just about done with work for the day, so I need to get back to it.

Have a great day everyone!
