What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Hello Friends,

QJB-congratulations on getting to your last cookie order for the season. Maybe you will get some respite and relaxation. Next big holiday is Valentines? Hopefully, your friend will help with present wrapping. It is not my favorite, especially if there is a lot to wrap. I try to wrap as I buy.

Yesterday I finally got my G-tube removed (yay!). I hadn't used it since I was in the hospital. Now I just have the PICC for my IV nutrition and antibiotics. Both of these will end on 12/28. Still waiting on getting the follow-up CT Scan that the infectious disease provider ordered. The scan is to make sure the abdominal abscess has resolved. I will call the office again to check on the status of the insurance approval.

I have been getting my 20-minute walks in daily. Not as much outside due to weather. Yesterday was rainy. Temps have been high 30s-40. I am a wimp so unless the sun is out, I don't want to walk outside. Also doing 30 minutes of yoga using YouTube videos. I can't believe how much strength I lost during the hospitalization.

Today not much planned. I do have a dental appointment for teeth cleaning. I really need it after being in the hospital. The teeth care when you are on the ventilator is subpar. The usual PT, walk, and yoga. Otherwise, some mild housecleaning in preparation for Christmas guests. My sister and family are coming for Christmas. They have rented a house, but we will do dinner at our house for my convenience. My sister will do the bulk of the cooking, so that will be nice.

QOTD: I am not really a snooper at this point in my life. However, I can usually figure out what people have bought me by process of elimination. I can remember when I was younger my sisters and I did snoop and open some presents. Another year our dog opened a bunch of presents for us! Naughty dog.

Glad things are getting better for you. I didn't realize you were on a ventilator. I still can't believe all you've been through, but I'm happy things are looking up!

I was on a ventilator for 7 or 8 days in total between all the surgeries.
