Good morning ~ My siblings and I don't exchange gifts anymore for birthdays or holidays - it's fabulous. We always buy for the kids of course. The pink dragon sounds perfect. Every time I sat down yesterday I'd start to doze off, so I just stayed up and moving. I made it to 8:30 and even watched a whole movie. Last night was Meet Me in St. Louis. So, I don't think I have sudden onset narcolepsy at age 55. Today we are taking dogs to the the park, I need to go back to Old Navy and exchange the new jeans for a smaller size - I should have tried them on first. I went from an 18 to a 14 - yay! The smallest size I ever made it to was a loose size 10 at 150 pounds and then settled at a comfy 12 around 175, so I'm happy with my progress. I have broad shoulders and wide hips - I'm never going to be tiny or in a single digit size and I'm good with that. I have laundry to do, decluttering/organizing and of course football. Plenty to keep me busy and from sleeping all day.

QOTD - The smell of butter cookies baking and christmas candles yesterday made me SO happy. I love coffee of course, and the garlic on the steaks last night smelled amazing. Okay - I love the smell of food - that is my favorite scent, food.

Accountability - so much food anxiety yesterday, a lot of white knuckling but stayed on plan. 194 day 4.

b- coffee x 4, SD toast w/SF jam

L- grilled chicken and salad w/spicy thai chili dressing

d- egg, sausage, cheese wrap

s beef jerky

How did Rob's cookies come out?
I always have to try on at old navy, their sizing is so variable. They prove that sizes are just made up.

So true! I have a pair of ON 18's in my closet that I ordered online last year that I still can't squeeze into - they are more like a 12. Robs cookies look great, but they are still naked. I tasted the dough - it was good, not too sweet, no cream of tartar flavor that I'm aware of, haha. He overmixed the frosting and it broke, so he will re-do today. Looking forward to a complete bite!

I've read somewhere that the average adult woman wears a 12 (or 14? I can't remember which - but since sizing is so inconsistent, the exact size doesn't matter...other than the majority aren't in the single sizes, like we're all led to believe!) I'll never get down to a single size, either - my frame is too large. I wore either a 10 or a 12 when I was in the 130s, and I was all bones then. No way I could get into a smaller size than that!

Totally agree with this ^ a size 10 is the smallest my hip bones will let me go no matter how small my stomach or ass get. Same with tops at 150 - M was pushing it with these shoulders and I usually wore a L

Why are women's sizes so crazy? Why not just a simple measurement? These pants have a waist with a circumference of xx inches. Done. It doesn't need to be hard. But they've made it really difficult.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

yes - women's sizing is crazy. Greg never even has to try anything on before buying it - he just buys whatever his neck or waist size is, and it always fits. I wish women's clothes were that way!

Right? Simple. This vanity sizing and brand sizing differences really make ordering online difficult.

It started as vanity sizing. If you paid more money you could have a smaller size on the label. It was wildly successful.

So old navy and "this is really a size 4 but I'm going to label it a 10l" must have been designed for masochists, lol. Wedding dresses as well, let me make the bride/bridesmaids feel bad...you're usual a size 12? Not only is bridesmaids dress ugly AF but it's also a size 18. It's the opposite of vanity.

i do like that most of the online brands give you actual measurements and I just look at those and disregard the size next to it. As long as those aren't changing, the size is still just made up
