He is sending me all of his screenshots, I will reach out after I look at them, but basically I think that he just would like to get a better receipt than what the IRS provides.

I believe that she is an enrolled agent, which is a certification for tax preparers. I think she works for HR Block.

I had to google this because I was very surprised when Trish said Mary is an IRS agent. Working as a tax preparer for HR block is not he same.

Working for the nation as an IRS Internal Revenue Officer, you'll be a highly trained professional protecting the interests of the federal government and the tax-paying public. Your primary focus will involve collecting delinquent tax accounts and securing delinquent tax returns.

You are correct my brother retired from the IRS last November. (The one that lives in Florida) He investigated Nonprofits and had a master's in finance that qualified him for the job.

Mornin' All!

well the instructor for my civil rights course decided that yesterday would be the last day of class, since he'd managed to get through all the material he'd planned to cover this week. Boo hoo - I'm really going to miss that class. When I took courses for fun as a non-degree student a few years ago, it was customary at this university (as evidently it is at a few other schools, but definitely not all) to applaud at the end of the lecture on the last day of class, especially if the instructor was particularly good. They seem to have lost this tradition somewhere - maybe during the pandemic lockdowns when everything was online, so the custom wasn't passed down to the newbies? Not sure. But during his lecture yesterday, I decided I was going to start a round of applause when he finished. So I did. Practically everyone in that class is either a freshman or an auditor, so they all started clapping, too - hopefully thinking that this is the way we do things at UW. Anyway, the instructor was beaming. I'm so glad I did that. I'm going to write him a note, too. He's a fantastic lecturer and the whole course was terrific!

my weight is up 4 lbs from last week. I did eat more than usual this week, but nowhere near an extra 14,000 calories - so I'm going to assume it's water or backup. Still - what a wake-up call, especially going into the holiday season with never-ending eating events. Ugh. Today is DH's birthday. He wants Chinese take-out. I think I'll just get myself a bowl of hot & sour soup (high in sodium, of course (but so are most things at a Chinese restaurant), but at least it's not too bad calorie-wise).

QOTD: yes - our house was burglarized 13 years ago, and I still fret about leaving the house for more than a couple of days, even though our neighborhood hasn't had any issues since then (about four houses on our block were hit the same month ours was - and suddenly, it stopped..). They took our two laptops - not sure if they took anything else, but then we used to joke (before the burglary) that a burglar would be very disappointed breaking into our house, since we have absolutely NOTHING any burglar would want. No expensive jewelry, no cash lying around, no electronics (other than laptops) that are less than 20 years old. Anyway, both laptops were at least three years old, both had missing keys because of the cats, and one was running Linux. We went to pawn shops for a couple of weeks afterward. The owner of one asked me for a description of the laptops. After I finished, he said no pawn shop would accept laptops like that. ha! I imagine they ended up in a dumpster somewhere. I was a little worried about identlty theft since I had tax forms on mine, but then, if they were taken to sell for drugs (which is most likely), the perpetrator probably didn't give a hoot about my tax forms - although I froze all my financial stuff regardless. Anyway, I'm sure they're in a landfill somewhere.

coffee with half & half

1/3 C leftover sweet potato casserole topped with L&F creme brûlée yogurt and 2 T cranberry sauce

"superfood" veggie slaw with Thai-style dressing and some kind of protein (Ratio yogurt?)

probably more Ratio yogurt

hot & sour soup, cake

protein shake if I'm too low on protein by the end of the day

ex: water aerobics

have a great day, everyone!

Happy Wednesday all. I just got a call moving PT from tomorrow to today, so no lunch out. I'll also be taking my bandage off, since it's been a week.

We woke up to a thin coat of snow on roofs and cars. It's not supposed to warm up a lot either. It feels like winter is early for us this year.

This is my third time typing this, as a cat keeps climbing into my lap. Typing disturbs him.

QOTD: I had a car stereo stolen, many years ago. I've had to cancel credit cards a few times due to fraudulent charges. But I've never had a home broken into.

Good Morning! I'm sorry the potential job didn't work out. I do agree that you do need to be selective and find the right one. Yesterday was a chaotic one, we have to get some reports from another department to complete the payroll and they were having some technical issues. We got payroll out by the skin of our teeth at 4:45. Super stressful and that means today will be the day for any corrections. I also have a meeting with my boss and one of my team members and it may not go well.

QOTD: I've had my car broken into as well. They got some cds and that's about it.
