Mornin' Weekenders!
there's a dusting of snow on the ground, but it looks like the streets and sidewalks are clear (at least from my bedroom window - we live on a corner, so I have a good view). Good. At least that means we can get out - walking or driving. Although I don't have anything going on today, really. Other than the usual reading and other stuff I'm always putting off.
Accountability has been great the last few days, even without the help of an appetite suppressant. I hope I can keep this up now that we're in the holiday season. There are parties and/or other eating events every week from now until Christmas - but if I do OK on the non-event days, and focus on not making a pig of myself at parties/luncheons/dinners, I should sail through this unscathed. Whew.
that Secret Santa thing we're doing sounds fun, but I can't think of a thing I want, so I haven't replied yet. Although I guess I have the weekend to reply since QJB isn't sending out the names until Monday. I'll try to think...
QOTD: other than protein shakes, I just drink flavored waters (both still and sparkling) and coffee. Any kind of flavored water is fine. As for coffee, we have both plain and hazelnut flavored here - we go back and forth. I usually pick up a bag or two of Creme Brûlée-flavored coffee at Aldi during the holiday season (I think that's the only time they carry it). I like that one, too. I don't add any additional flavoring or sweeteners to my coffee - just half & half.
coffee with half & half
Ratio or L&F yogurt (maybe with raspberries), small piece of buckwheat bread with peanut butter (had this same breakfast yesterday - held me over until lunch)
protein shake??
the last of the turkey/farro/chickpea soup, small piece of rye bread with butter
Ratio or L&F yogurt
the cup of cheese tortelloni with homemade marina sauce that I ended up not making last night, because DH brought a pizza home (crap - although I just had one piece - and the pizza was cut into squares, so it was smaller than the standard triangular slices)
ex: possibly a Zumba class - or else just walking
have a great Saturday, everyone!

QJB did ask for replies by Sunday so she can do the work of assigning and sending out the details on Monday, so it isn't quite the weekend to decide. The fun thing about SS is you don?t have to decide what you need, it?s a surprise!

Morning! Is it still morning? It's 11am but I barely slept last night so it already feels like the longest day ever. I need a nap soon.
On top of that crankiness, my mom inadvertently (apparently) guilted me into starting intermittent fasting with her. She's been doing it for months and likes it a lot. I read a book about it a few years ago and it sounded promising, but I wasn't ready at the time. I am not sure I am ready for it now, either, but the gauntlet was dropped and I am not a quitter. I have been up since 4am but just made my protein coffee now at 11am.
Later I will have a veggie burger & a Greenridge Farm Beef Stick. Maybe chicken breast if I need more later.
QOTD: As a rule, I only drink coffee, and I love the Jordan's Salted Caramel which makes it a little richer. When I have seltzers I generally prefer tropical fruit flavors.

Lots of people swear by IF. I tried it for a while but the waiting to break my fast at 11 was rough and not even for the food! It was all about the cream in my coffee.

After a very frustrating week wasting day after day repeatedly resigning real estate contracts only to be told Fri evening that she wants my part notarized .... Meanwhile I purchased tickets mid month to Europe for the holidays and it looks increasingly doubtful I'll be able to go .... Grrr
Other than that life is peachy . Chritmasized my new apartment... decorating a ( large ) solar lit tabletop tree and assembling my ( now painted) outdoor furniture.
Attended Alvin Ailey opening last night ... friends have pointed out how lucky I am to live here with all these world class productions constantly available. True . Have dreams of collaborating with my favorite living classical composer and great pianist ( and fellow college alumnus ) on an opera . Yep ... got ballz. Think I'll reach out this week . My idea is great .
