Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a good day ahead! I am thankful for the support, kick in the pants, humor and friendship I have found on this board and the positive impact you have on my days and my life!

I will get in a Nike workout today on Netflix and I will eat all the things that appeal to me plus my nephew is making a fancy version of green bean casserole which I have committed to trying because I am a good aunt. There will be eggnog, wine and board games. There will probably also be chaos, sibling spats and sadness about Amanda's dog still. Holidays are complicated.

qotd - when do you think Christmas music should start? I say December 1 and end as soon as it's dec 26. With almost a full week of November left and having heard them for weeks now, I suspect I might be over it by dec 2, lol.

happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all have a great day. And thanks for everything. If any of you have spare time tomorrow, you can help me look for my wagon. I'm planning on falling off it today.

QOTD: I think all things christmas should start at midnight after Thanksgiving, and end on midnight, January 1. Music, lights, decorations. All of it.

Good mornin y'all! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We're not eating until 4-ish but the madness started yesterday. The pies and trifle are made. The Mac and cheese is ready to be finished. We'll start the turkey around 9-ish. Rolls will rise sometime after that. My mom will do the stuffing and sweet potatoes. We'll both work on mashed potatoes. She'll do the gravy too. Since we have a whole turkey this year we get giblet gravy!

The cheese ball will be yummy!

QOTD: oh good grief thi****s close, I just discovered yesterday that the big mix station has already switched to Christmas music. I literally said noooooooo! Too too toooooooo soon. I say at least until thanksgiving is over with and I stop after Christmas Day.

The struggle is real!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm so thankful for OH and all of you. Through all the highs and lows, we understand each other and the support is amazing. Love you guys!! I have a plan in my head for food today - turkey, veggie sides and only seriously worthy bites of anything else. I secretly pray that everything looks and tastes awful and for all that is holy, please burn those friggin' amazing rolls - save me!!!! Being mindful and making it about connecting with my family, being present and in the moment. All away from the appetizer areas whenever possible.

QOTD - Day after Thanksgiving I'm ready for all things Christmas and then shut it down on New Years day.

Accountability - great, added a SF apple pie filling/keto granola in a cup, warmed w/whip cream dessert thing last night. 105 calories that scratched a huge itch. 196 day 3.

I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving day!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're having dinner at MIL's apartment later this afternoon, so Greg will take a few things over with him when he goes over there this morning to deal with her medications (she had some changes in her prescriptions, and he has to put all her meds in those little plastic trays that have the days of the week on it (as well as the time of day), since she gets confused otherwise). At least some of it will be out of the way, since this afternoon we'll be taking the turkey breast over to roast there, probably the Costco pumpkin pie since it's too big to stick in a paper bag for him to take with him this morning, the pan of stuffing (to bake over there along with the turkey), and possibly my air fryer because I picked out this Brussels sprouts recipe that's supposed to be made in one - I don't know how it would be to air fry it here and then nuke it later. Brussels sprouts can be pretty bitter when cooked in certain ways, and I don't know what the effect would be if I don't just air fry them once I'm at her place and then dump the sauce on (and eat them fairly soon afterward). So, yes, the air fryer (plus the Brussels sprouts and their sauce) will probably go over this afternoon as well. If she's in a good mood, we'll pick up my mother and bring her over as well. If MIL is in a crappy mood (which unfortunately is pretty common these days), then we'll celebrate with my mom tomorrow with the leftovers.

QOTD: definitely after Thanksgiving. I like it but after about two weeks of it, I'm done for the year.

coffee with half & half

skyr with cranberry sauce

I should probably eat something for lunch or I'm more likely to gorge at the Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe more skyr (or yogurt) with a tablespoon of tahini or peanut butter mixed in? (that seems to hold me over for a few hours)

turkey breast, stuffing, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, sourdough bread, pumpkin pie

hopefully I'll honor my plan to enjoy the meal but not gorge! We'll likely have leftovers for a couple of days, so no need to shovel it all in today!

Good morning! Ohhhh you get holiday potatoes! Lucky you! I'm headed home in the train shortly. Just trying to charge my iPad so I can read my book! I am going to be THAT person who has to go to the grocery store today. We do our big feast tomorrow.

Today will not be a huge eating day - that's tomorrow. So today will be matzo ball soup, rotisserie chicken, and maybe some shrimp. Trying to stick to 3 meals a day, no snacks!

I hope whatever you are doing today, it's a lovely day and you feel loved and appreciated. I love and appreciate the community here.

I'm surprised your grocery is open today, more and more places have gone back to being closed -- at least it shouldn't be crowded! Safe travels home and enjoy the day.

I called and believe it or not, they're open until 5. I was imaging maybe 2. I feel bad even shopping on a holiday but I've been gone for a week and need some things!

Here, the only places allowed to be open are convenience stores (though most are still closed) and bars. When big retailers started black Friday on Thursday, they weren't allowed to open here until midnight.

I don't listen to radio so don't really care. I set up a playlist that I really like and use that in the car. I do agree that Christmas should start on Thanksgiving night and end by New Year's.

Growing up we left the tree and nativity set up until January 6 and had a special dinner and celebration because that was the day the wisemen came. Now January 6 has such a sadly different association for us.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. It is a day to fall off the wagon and eat, drink, and enjoy everything. I am going to my sisters and hope there are cookies and pumpkin roll. Grateful for friends and family and to have made it through another year.
