What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Good morning! QJB, I am so curious about your Tetris skills to stack/store all the prep work. I love me a great prep job and storage. It's good for my soul.

I worked by bootie off yesterday and I'm so happy. 30 minutes on the recumbent bike and 55 minutes of aqua zumba. I ache in all the right places and my ankle is just a little more angry than it was before I started. PT today, that will really help. I got the bacon pre baked, the cranberry orange sauce done, the shelf stable stuff pulled out of the cabinets to load into the rig AND we did a run through Costco to get my daughter the freaking Sticky Toffee Pudding. Rog was sure he could park and go in with me, but gave up after 15 frustrated minutes. I was in and out in less then 7 minutes. Did I mention the sticky toffee pudding has 40 grams of sugar per serving? No way I am touching that and ending my fabulous T-day dinner on the green couch. I want to savor my bites of mashed potatoes and gravy.

Today I am meeting a tile company at my side project and off to PT. Rog will bring the rig home around lunch time and once the refrigerator gets cold, I'll fill it up. Packing clothes is easy. Layers and layers and no nice clothes needed. Jeans, leggings, silk long johns (which come night time I may wear all at once) and sweatshirts and jackets. The desert ain't no place for fancy stuff.

QoTD: Mom always made orange jello with mandarin oranges and walnuts. I quit making it years ago but think of it every year when I am pulling together the dinner.

Meals today

B: hb egg and cottage cheese

L: last of the chicken shawarma on 25 calorie tortilla with some greek yogurt

D: chicken italian sausage, edamame pasta, sauce and a side salad

I have 1/2 cow coming on Monday. I had to buy a Fridge for the garage so I can fit it all. I have a feeling the beef will not stack and look as pretty as that.

Good morning JB and Menu friends! Friday on a Wednesday, how can you beat that?

Glad to hear you got your cookies/classes advance prep done and shopping checked off the list! We are hosting dinner this year, tonight we will prepare. I always do the Turkey Bag method , I was going to switch it up and am going to stick with what I know! We did buy dinner rolls from a local orchard/bakery and they look fabulous, I will be sure to have at least one!

QOTD - brought tears to my eyes when I read this earlier. We had a simple tradition when we were growing up, My grandfather would take all of the kids on a hike/walk somewhere. in the 70's we always had snow for Thanksgiving. I can remember coming home and having warm hot cocoa and eating a couple hours after our hike. I cherish my childhood and I often reflect and hope that Joddie and I fill our kids with wonderful memories of family. ( They both live at home, so I am guessing yes..Haha)

I have seen on the internet more than a few times this week. Before you get engaged you better find out of your in-laws are a 5k or a mimosa family on Thanksgiving morning. I can appreciate the hike with grandfather. That is a wonderful memory.
