Good morning, everybody!

I would like to start off by wishing everybody a wonderful holiday. Both the regular posters, but also the occasional guests, old friends and lurkers, also.

This procedure is treating me a little rougher than I expected. I napped for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and felt a bit better after that. Right now, I look like I have a bad sunburn. I need to stay out of the sunlight for the next 24 hours as well, so I am taking it easy for the most part today. Hopefully, I will feel up to going to the gym later.

DD and her boyfriend get in tonight. We are going to try and recreate the dish that i posted on Friday. This is technically a work day, but I don't think that much will happen. Tomorrow I try not to check my emails at all and generally succeed until around 4:00 in the afternoon.

QOTD: I once read that turnip had become the least popular Thanksgiving vegetable, so we have adopted it. Turnips every year. Turnips wont fall by the wayside on my watch.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: Roast Beef

Dinner: Burata and Proscuitto

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

Good for you JB. Glad everything worked out with the cookies. I know it is none of my business, but I say make the Jello. You never know how much time anybody has left and the ones who do not appreciate it will have something to talk about.

With that said I am piggybacking off the Brown bread excitement of yesterday. In 2013 my work husband's wife passed away from Metastatic Breast cancer. Late 30's so sad. She fought it for over 2 years. During her journey I jumped in a few times with a Homemade meal of Ravioli or a cheesecake or 2. When she was trying to control the spread with diet, I found the recipes she was able to eat and made a few dishes to take a little off her plate so she could focus on healing. I went through the journey with my dad and was able to comfort her husband with my knowledge of what the journey would look like and they were super appreciative. June 19, 2013, she passed, and work husband had a gift for me and said Suzy really wanted you to have this. This is what was in the bag.

I said OK and went about my day. I had pedicured that day at lunch, so I had some time to ponder the gift and it clicked. This was my dad's Wedding ring, my dog's collar, the rings I received from my grandmothers when they passed. She wanted to give something to everyone who helped her in her journey but did have rings and diamonds to give to all of us, so she blessed us all with a can of Spotted Dick. I came back and told WH I get it now. So, when I am old, and I have hoarded my home, and the authorities are cleaning out my house and I am screaming you can't take my spotted dick that was from Suzy they will think I am crazier than I already am. It has a special place in my Curio. I hope you all get a can of Spotted Dick in your lifetime.

This day can go 2 ways very busy because everyone getting orders in for Thursday and Friday or so slow just to make me miserable. I did sign up for a HITT class tomorrow morning at 7. I figured I got to start the day somehow and dinner isn't till 3 so I'll have plenty of time.

QOTD: Dad used to make a dressing with ground meat with turkey gizzards and it had raisins. It was my favorite part of the meal but when he passed the recipe died with him. I have never found another recipe like it, and I have tried to mimic it many times, but I cannot even come close.

You've saved me from a life of pointless experimenting. I will never need to try making a dish of turkey gizzards and raisins.

Good morning all and Happy Wednesday,

I love holiday weeks and the season in general. Everyone is in good spirits and there is positive energy abound.

This is meant to be humorous satire and no ill intentions about it. It is a sad reality for some new arrivals' welcome to this country. However, I know some people believe this and I am definitely not one of them.

QOTD- Desert Bird. My family continually reminisces about a year that my Great Grandma failed miserably with the turkey. She was an amazing cook normally but had never cooked turkey. Her daughters always handled the turkeyfor 35 years. It turned out so dry that it should've disintegrated when touched. We all joke about Grandma Muskie's desert bird to this day anytime her cooking or Thanksgiving comes up.

B: nada.

L: smoked chicken. Broccoli.

D: Maybe a fatty roast. I'm thinking about making plates and driving them around tonight to distribute aka outreach. There are plenty of organizations offering meals tomorrow. I know people would like to eat decent tonight, as well.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.
