Forgive me!

Good mornin everyone. The last weekend before thanksgiving...this year has been an odd and excruciatingly long year for me yet it seems like January was yesterday. Yuck!

We have to go pick up my moms prescriptions today at Walmart. We'll pick up the last of what we need which isn't much. I need a few lemons and we need milk. I'm thinking of making a cheese ball...a jalapeño popper cheese ball to be exact. I may make it another time as no one else would eat it but my mom and me. We need to get some pans but other than that we're set.

QOTD: thanksgiving or Christmas? Which do you prefer?

Christmas here because it is a more relaxed day for us. We're doing pizza this year so much easier than the whole thanksgiving spread.

B: chicken, peppermint marshmallows in coffee

L: ????

D: ????

A jalapeño cheese ball sounds delicious! I agree with you on how fast this year has gone, and essentially once it's thanksgiving the rest of the year goes so fast that Thanksgiving almost equals 2024, lol.

qotd - Thanksgiving. There is so much pressure around Christmas and gifting. I always preferred Thanksgiving because you get all the yummy food, all the family time but less pressure and over the years if my sister and I doing it we've got a good routine and it's easier every year!

we o probably have to hit the grocery store and I need to get some extra stuff for the kitchen hear for a few days.

exercise today will just be some stretching and whatever walking I get in.

menu

coffee plus half and half x3

cheese sticks

greek yogurt

chicken enchilada

have a great Sunday!

Good Morning!

It's freezing here in NYC - funny weather all week warm and sunny during the day then January like at night and early morning. Doesn't stop me from having tea and early breakfast on the patio though with catz running and playing... nice

early b- pastries n tea

Brunch - don't know but my fridges and freezers are full up ! Luckily the cats eat the meat and the worms make compost out of the rest so little gets wasted.

Ikea and big box stores today - desperately need to organize my clothing containers ( those little foldable fabri****a cubes work for me ) and finally make my bedroom livable .

Still need to buy an upholstered headboard since my carved one got" lost " during the move ?!!! and l shaped glass topped desk for in front of the window . Hopefully this adult setup will encourage me to keep better records finally...

Need to shop for an outdoor TV too for here to order on Black Friday probably at Brandsmart. Last year after I'd ordered off the internet ( still hasn't been delivered a year later ) I realized Brandsmart has just as good prices and great delivery and installation too .

I need one I can lower into a waterproof box to protect it from the elements the months I'm not here and thats a big added expense too but making frequent use of my outdoor space trumps the price . Putting a heater / fake small fireplaces out there too for the same reason.

Its funny that now that overindulging is a thing of the past I have very little tolerance for nasty or even inefficient living conditions- but I guess that's a good thing and truly I deserved to live well all along even though I didn't see it .

Gotta get after the paperwork this week and get a replacement passport or at least try . Yikes ! So much to do before I travel for the holidays mid December.

Lunch - ikea food ( lemon cod vegetable patties and succotash probably)

D - soup n salad n herbal tea

exercise - four plus miles walking

Good morning ~ Jalapeno popper anything is good in my book! Yesterday Costco wasn't bad, but I was only there for coffee and pies. If I had to actually shop? Hell no! Traffic-jam-city. Yesterday there were tons of errands and a nap by the fire while it poured outside. So lovely! After we walk the dogs this morning, it's chore time. I can no longer ignore the clutter, it's killing me. Besides, I want to be ready for Christmas decorations on Friday and I don't have time to mess around.

QOTD - I have always preferred Christmas. The joy, magic, holiday spirit, build up, scents, lights, movies, family - all the things!

Accountability - A bit heavy on the cals yesterday. I was winging it w/on the fly switches, but still good - 197 day 4.

B- coffee x 4

l -Pizza toppings in a pan under the broiler

d -The last of Rob's chicken enchiladas

s- beef jerky

Have a great day!

Good morning. Time is flying by!

Yesterday was another quiet, relaxing day. We went and saw Priscilla, the movie yesterday. Disturbing.

Today I need to pop into Target and Vons. I'll start food shopping in earnest tomorrow when I brave Costco and then Trader Joes. And then I have to start figuring out what to get the grands for Christmas. I'm having them make a list over Thanksgiving.

QoTD: Thanksgiving

Meals today sound like

B: TJ's new breakfast casserole thingy. 300 cals for one serving, but I don't think I can eat a whole serving. We shall see

L: Turkey meat, unexpected cheddar holiday edition, pop chips

D: chicken shawarma, coconut rice, some kind of veggie

Peace everybody!

Mornin' All!

I need to finish reading the book for my book discussion group. The meeting is tomorrow morning. I hope I can finish the book today!! Meanwhile, my sister texted telling me to go over to my mother's to fix her computer. I'm really getting sick of this. Not only "fixing" her computer, but having to run over there all the time. I get especially bothered when my mother wants me to go to the grocery store for her to get one or two or three things, because there's a grocery store literally a half block from her apt complex. She has an aide who comes in on Monday mornings to help her with whatever she needs help with - cleaning, doing laundry, etc. Mom said she doesn't want the aide running over to the grocery store to pick up milk (or whatever) because she "has to pay her". This woman charges $30 an hour, but it'd take maybe 15 minutes for her to run over to the grocery store to pick up the one or two items that my mother usually needs (because she usually eats her meals in the facility's dining room, so she only keeps things like milk, bread, yogurt, and peanut butter in her apt). The aide can easily do that on the Monday mornings that she's there without adding anything extra to the normal bill. Meanwhile, my mother doesn't seem to mind at all that I have to drive 10 miles over there, go to the grocery store that's a half block from her apt, buy a half gallon of milk, take it to her apt, and drive 10 miles home. ARRRRRGH. (Mom emailed me earlier this morning to tell me she was out of ice cream and wanted me to go to the store today to buy her more - that was before I got the text from my sister that I had to go fix the computer. Evidently the computer "broke" (or whatever the hell is wrong with it) before she sent the message about wanting me to get her some ice cream). Anyway, enough on that.

QOTD: until recently it was Thanksgiving, because I find everything about the Christmas gift-giving ritual stressful. I'd rather just get together with family and have a festive dinner. But now that we don't do gifts anymore, it's really six-of-one half-dozen-of-the-other.

coffee with half & half

plain skyr with cranberry compote

rye crumpet with butter and marmalade

protein shake

leftover curry chicken/chickpeas with vegetables

Ratio yogurt

kiwi

leftover ginger-miso chicken salad with a piece of Danish rye bread

have a great Sunday, everyone!

Do you have instant cart or Uber delivery? Maybe just have those things delivered to her so you don't have to deal with it

yea I really should look into that. She once tried using the service that the grocery store (the one up the street from her) offers, but she said they delivered the bag to the wrong apt, so now she doesn't want to do it again (even though they "fixed" the problem - she called them and they packed up another bag with the stuff she wanted and delivered it to the right apt that time- so she did get her stuff)- - but she has this fear of doing it again. I think I'll try instant cart next time - I can do the ordering this time. As far as the computer goes, I rebooted it and...TA DA!...it worked fine. I should have just called her and talked her through rebooting it while I was on the phone, since often times that solves the problem. oh well - at least she got her ice cream, since I walked over to the store while I was there.

Good afternoon Mel and weekend menuers,

Hope you've been able to get everything done! A cheese ball is always good in my book.

QOTD- Thanksgiving. I associate it with family time and I'm not a fan of the circus that Xmas seems to have become.

Today we went to Walmart and publix to pick up a few things. I've been asked for banana bread, which I've never made. If anyone has a favorite recipe, please feel free to share! I've also made the pineapple thing and then french toast today on request. Family is happy, so I'm happy.

Today has been french toast and a protein bar so far. Will dig into the pile of ever roast chicken I got or the sushi roll. Another protein bar at least will round it out.

Cheers, and happy Sunday!
