Mornin' All!

Jen - I'm having the same issue with replying! I've tried a couple of times to reply to ****ro Girl, but it shows up under Jim's post instead - ARRGGHH! (****ro Girl - glad to see you back! It's been a long time!)

I have lunch with a friend today and then a party tonight. I made pao de queijo for the party (Brazilian cheese bread balls). Last time I made them with parmesan, and they were a bit on the salty side, so I left out the added salt this time (made them with sharp cheddar instead of parmesan). Well evidently sharp cheddar isn't as salty as parmesan, because now these things aren't salty enough. Cripes. I considered making something else today to take instead, but I'll take the pao de queijo as planned. I don't need these things lying around my house. Maybe someone on a low salt diet will eat them.

I had another uncle pass away yesterday. That's three in the last two months (well, one aunt and two uncles). I have one remaining aunt and my mother - and that's counting both sides of my family. That generation is about gone - so sad..

QOTD: late afternoon is by far my worst time. I've been trying to delay breakfasts and lunches if possible so I'm not feeling snacky in the afternoons. Oddly, evenings usually aren't a problem for me - if I happen to be craving something sweet, SF popsicles or SF Jello - or a L&F yogurt - will usually kill it. But not in the late afternoon. Ugh. It's a constant issue.

coffee with half & half

protein shake

at a Mexican place - will probably get a street taco

afternoon - will eat something lower-calorie with fat and/or fiber so I won't be starving at the party

party - who knows - but hopefully I won't overdo it. I'll load up on raw veggies if they're there (they usually are) and just pick a couple of treats that are 1) homemade. (I can buy store-bought things at a store any time). and 2) look particularly good

have a great day, everyone!!

OH is glitching. It wasn't ****ro Girl who posted--that was Partly Pollyanna, but it's showing up as her name. The glitch is why you can't reply to the right person. This happened last week when a post got attributed to Liz but she said it wasn't her. I hope they get it fixed because it is going to cause all kinds of weirdness if posts are showing up as written by the wrong person!

a-ha. Well, that makes sense. I was really surprised to see the supposed "****ro Girl post" on here because she hasn't been on OH in years - and I'd forgotten about the Liz issue. So weird it's posting people's posts under the wrong name. Yea - I hope they get this fixed soon!!

My condolences to you about your uncle. I have also noticed that our Christmas and other holidays with DH's side of the family is getting smaller and smaller. It is sad to see.

Good morning!

Yesterday was a fun and full day. I made to the aqua fit class, only to discover that the instructor was out ill so they subbed in a water zumba instructor. Ok. I admit, I really enjoyed the class and I got a great workout in even with ankle modifications. But I did not know tha****er shoes are helpful in this environment and I have two HUGE blood blisters on my big toes and my ankle is screaming this morning. I can feel the workout in other areas of my body, in the way that we love. The achy muscles that come from use. I really needed that both physically and mentally. But my toes and my ankle are not happy campers today. And then the wine party was very calm, and very peaceful. I did have two small glasses of wine, excellent steak and broccoli salad and one bite of dessert. I am very happy with that result.

Today I have a meeting with the plumber for my project job. Need to leave soon for that. And we have a reservation at a new Italian restaurant with our neighbor friends. Then AFTER we get home from that, we hope to take brown dog in late this evening to get his stiches out. If not tonight then very early tomorrow morning. It's an emergency specialty facility and they open at 5 tonight until 6 am Monday morning. So, late night would be great for us if they don't have a lot of critical situations going on. We'll call first.

QoTD: I eat at 9, 12, and 6 pm daily. Around 2:30-3:30 I get hungry. Especially if I have worked out that day. Sometimes I am able to ignore it. But sometimes, as I've said, it saves Roger's life for me to have a snack. I have one snack rule for that window of time. It must be protein. So beef jerky or an HB egg or chicken breast bites.

Menu today

B: last of the chicken thigh corn dish

L: pork chop and acorn squash that I punted on yesterday

D: TBD. But they have something called crispy burrata that I am very interested in!

Photos are from my visit with our oldest son. They have a neon boneyard in Vegas that is very cool. I will return and do the nighttime guided tour at some point. And we went to Flight Club which is a super fun dart place. Ryan and Roger playing and my stupid face on the monitor each time my turn came up. Ryan said "Mom, look here!"and I went WHAT? And this is the picture it took and Ryan made me play the whole time with it. He found great joy in it.

Peace Everybody!
