What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Call me butter I'm on a roll. The number of cookies you put out are insane. All is see in my mind is flour everywhere. I am a clean as you go cook. Never too much of a mess, except when I make ravioli. There is no taming the flour when you're rolling out ravioli. That is crazy they will be calling during a Holiday week. They must really need to get this filled. Hope it pans out.
I baked another Pumpkin cheesecake last night. My dear friend who sat bedside when my dad passed away will not except gifts. She has been an ICU nurse for most of her career and was able to walk us through the last day of dad's life. She was sent from God. Dad always loved her, and it was so kind that she was there for us. So, I have made her a pumpkin cheesecake these last couple of years. I can't buy gifts, but she can't resist the Pumpkin cheesecake so No birthday or Christmas gifts but just the cheesecake to thank for her kindness.

It's so sweet that you still bake for her, you have a huge heart. I want to make crock pot pizza but I know I would blow it on the portion size. I do use mini casserole dishes that are a single serving in the oven or air fryer though.

Your pumpkin cheesecakes are THE BEST gift one can ask for. If I were any closer I would have invited myself over for your various desserts.

I roll my dough between parchment paper so no need for flour on the rolling pin! I would not be a baker if I needed to toss flour around like that!
G'morning all!
Have been missing you and gotta make an effort to post daily going forward.
My arm being in a sling and the shoulder still hurting, I have limited time for typing and most of it goes towards work. But on Monday I had my post op appt with the Dr, another set of X-rays and all is good. Then yesterday had my first PT. I'm supposed to exercise with a dowel that weighs like a broomstick. I was laughing because before surgery I was doing bicep curls with a 50 lb barbell and now I can barely lift the dowel. But the gal said these exercises are not for strength training, they are to prevent stiffness while you heal. According to the Dr I'm in the 6 weeks category, so I am hoping by late Dec I should be back to normal.
Other than all these health related issues, the good news is DD arriving for Thanksgiving on Sun and DS is coming next Tuesday night. So I am doing a one arm dance routine because my heart is happy to have the kids home.
QOD - before surgery, just one pillow under my head. Now several pillows to make me sleep more upright and one to support the elbow. Can't wait to get rid of all of them.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee & Barebells bar
- Autumnal Soup & quest chips
- TJ chicken fajitas
- E: not doing much right now but the plan is to start walking
Happy hump day!

I think three days after surgery I had to use my arms to lift my leg into bed, it was so weak. But the PT person said you've got the rest of your life to build muscle, but these first weeks are about flexibility, range of motion, and keeping scar tissue from building up. And those things have to be done sooner, and cannot be done later.
You'll be flinging barbells around before you know it.

Amen to that.
And let's hope I won't be flinging any barbells!
