Good morning~ I've been up since 2am, I gave up on going back to sleep but I feel rested. Naps come so easy now I'm sure I'll give that a go. Yesterday I went to every store known to man including the entire mall. I barely bought anything which is great, but man are the wheels turning for Christmas. I confess I'm stocked up on christmas candles, bought some little stockings for the fur babes and an adorable candy dish. Oh and NLF gear for Rob and the kiddo for under the tree. I got nothing done around the house, so that will be today after we take the dogs to the park for a walk.

QOTD - What are you watching/reading right now? I'm watching Gilded Age on HBO and I just finished watching Til Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs Haysom on Netflix which was very a interesting 4 part series. I finished yet another Elin Hilderbrand Nantucket book. I've almost read her entire library I enjoy the ease of the read. I finished Tom Lake - I know everyone loved it but I was left disappointed. It was well written and well read. I didn't have a relationship with my mother or my sisters like that (envy) and I was just waiting for something more scandalous to happen. Maybe I'm reading too many Elin Hilderbrand books! Anyway I'm looking for a new book and a new watch - so recommendations please!

Accountability - One 25 calorie Archway gingerbread man. 199 still - yay!

B- coffee, cottage cheese

l - chicken salad

d - low carb chicken enchiladas

s - tomatoes

Have a great day!!!

Mornin' Weekenders!

we went over to a continuous care facility last night to visit some friends (who are also former neighbors) who moved over there a couple of months ago. The place is absolutely fabulous - huge, lots of programs and other activities, three swimming pools and lots of fitness equipment, wonderful library, lots of cozy places to lounge around in, two dining facilities - we had a great dinner - complete with wine - in one of them. Their apartment is fabulous - large and modern, floor to ceiling windows, 14th floor with fantastic views of the capitol building. Plus the place is right downtown so you can walk everywhere. We left thinking that would be a perfect place for us in the future - we loved it. Until we got home and looked at the prices. Good Lord. The monthly fees are more than other places, but not shockingly more - but the entrance fees. OMG! The cost about as much as our house is worth. Great place but - I'm not sure I want to spend that much money (or if we'd even be "approved" in the first place). Yikes. Too bad - it really is a wonderful place.

nothing on the docket for today (although I need to do class stuff - didn't do much of it yesterday), but it's supposed to be sunny and warm (at least for November), so we'll need to get out and do something active at some point. I hate to waste a beautiful day!

QOTD: I'm pretty much limited to reading and watching stuff for my film groups, book groups, and classes - although lately I've been catching some Amanpour recordings on YouTube as well as Jimmy Kimmel monologues (also on YouTube) - usually later at night when I don't have the motivation to read more stuff for classes

B: plain skyr with cranberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: hopefully nothing. I REALLY need to reel it in today

L: hummus sandwich??

AS: see MS - although late afternoon is a really bad time for me, so maybe some Ratio yogurt so I (hopefully) won't go for something I shouldn't have?

D: mushroom tortelloni with marinara sauce (still haven't gotten around to eating this, so today is the day...)

have a great day, everyone!

I just finished The Spy Coast by Tess Gerritsen, which I enjoyed. Have you read Killers of a certain age by Deanna Rayburn? It's very fun. Watching I finally finished the most recent season of Shetland, just in time for the next one at the end of the month. Last night I watched a series called The Lost Women of Hwy 20, it was interesting. Parents in the 70s and 80s were very different. I also ran by Macys to get something that was more formal than a sweater and less formal than a blazer and scored a couple for 12.99 each in their pre Black Friday sale, yay me! I also bought a small box of Christmas seasalt caramels and when I went to put them in the fridge realized I still had an unopened box from last Christmas so also..yay me but also boo.

Good morning! Yesterday was a perfect day. A very relaxing morning, followed by a super fun date with my daughter for Mamma Mia!! the play and dinner. The weather was San Diego perfect. I did very well on foods and had just one glass of wine with my dinner. And I have fun leftovers. I ordered the Tomahawk pork chop and ate about 1 ounce of it. I did have one Arancini ball (like 1 inch sized) a few bites of Italian Charcuterie meats, a little cheese, and one bite of Kati's lasagna. Oh, and one asparagus spear. So not bad at all! I completely stayed out of the bread.

Today is casual again. Roger is on his way home from Vegas and I am hanging out with brown dog. His Cone of Shame collar is making him truly insane, so the more I can just be still and have him next to me, the more he can not wear it. Also, he's been cleared for short walks and I've been cleared for short walks, so I think we'll meander around the block. I can't believe how much better my ankle is after just one PT visit and I'm very much looking forward to my appointments this week. I'll also doing my prescribed home exercises. I think I might be able to make it to workout class a week from tomorrow with a few modifications!

QoTD: I'm currently bingeing Homeland since I never watched in back in the day. I'm trying to read The Sum of Us for my book club, but it's not going well. Maybe I'm not cerebral enough?

Foods today

B: left over charcuterie meats and cheese. Literally one slice of three meats and about an ounce of taleggio cheese. They looked askance at me when I asked them to wrap it. Like, that's nearly a meal for us!

L: a few ounces of the pork chop, asparagus spears and 1/2 of the cornbread cake that came with it.

D: Carne asada and grilled veggies

Peace Everybody!

Congrats on maintaining! And I feel that meme...especially every time I see the little calendars that say if you weren't born before xx date, you can't buy booze. The fact that people born years after I graduated can is just a reality check.

Naps are also awesome. Have been partaking myself and assume I'm fighting off some funk while bloating. Good times!

QOTD- Well, I spent some time rewatching the Beverly Hillbillies TV show. Boy, those were different times. I also got in a few episodes of Forensic Files while at the retreat after I was topped out on peopling for the night. No real reading. Love it and miss it...just don't have the bandwidth with all the screen time for work.

Cheers!
