Happy Saturday!! What's on your menu today?
Good morning! YAY AMY!!!! Way to go. PS, we have matching toes.
Last night my daughter and one of our friends who may just as well be a daughter showed up unexpectedly for girls night at my house. I loved it. I drank too much wine. But still, what a great time. Brown dog was able to be rid of the drain yesterday so I was able to get the pen and towels and everything sick room put away. He's still got about 20-25 stitches and those will come out on the 18th. But he's got some freedom back and he's much happier.
Today my daughter and I are going to see Mamma Mia, the play and then have a chef's window dinner at a local Italian restaurant that I love. Weather is supposed to be 82. It's going to be a great day.
QoTD: I aim to be around 1000 calories a day (which did NOT happen yesterday, because, wine). I've always been very protein forward in my eating habits, so I don't worry too much about the macros anymore. As long as I pick protein first, I let myself have a bit of everything.
I'm going to be extra careful today with eating because this evening I will be indulging in some fabulous carbs. And I will be driving so I won't struggle with wine.
B: eggplant parm with a over medium fried egg
L: turkey meat, unexpected cheddar holiday cheese, tomatoes
D: TBD
Have a great Saturday! Peace.

Mornin' Weekenders - and a big congrats to Amy!! That's a huge milestone!!
my eating has been horrible the last two days, so it's back to it...esp with the holidays coming up. Eating events every week - often more than once a week. Sticking strictly to plan on the other days is about the only way to keep control... (I realized the other day that I scheduled my annual physical exam the day after Thanksgiving - what the hell was I thinking? At least it will keep me from eating like a pig on Thanksgiving day, though..)
QOTD: I maintain on about 1600 kcal/day - I can go a bit higher if I exercise for an hour, so I usually get in an hour of cardio every day - walking, water aerobics, Zumba, biking, elliptical - whatever. I'm also doing my PT exercises every day (strength training for arm/shoulder muscles). The PT said at some point I could gradually decrease that to 2-3x a week to maintain. So once I'm at that point, I'll either keep doing the exercises the PT gave me, or go back to using my resistance bands. Whichever - but I'm evidently getting to the age where I really HAVE to work on my muscles regularly, because it doesn't seem to take much these days to develop issues if I don't. Other than that, I aim for 100 grams of protein a day, because we discovered early on that I malabsorb it. I don't count carb or fat grams. Just protein grams and overall calories. I also have a weekly goal of eating foods from 30 different plant sources. I make it about 95% of the time - but those last five or ten can be a challenge to get in!
coffee with half & half
crumpet with butter and jam
pumpkin yogurt topped with a couple tablespoons of high fiber cereal
protein shake
I need to go pretty light for the rest of the day because we'll be having dinner out tonight. So probably a thing or two of Ratio yogurt (??)
have a great day, everyone!
Great job on being in onederland. Keep up the excellent work.
