What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
on 11/10/23 1:30 am
Happy Friday! We did it! I have no idea what I am excited about--I teach on weekends, so weekends are not my down time any more. But it's all good. I'm mostly all set for Sunday's class--I just need to deal with a few more details, and then I can chill today. I never made it to Costco, so I will plan to do that this morning while Grim is in PT.
I know today's meme is my second this week about the horrors of daylight savings time. I used to dislike it when I was employed, but at least jobs force you back to the clock! We are basically forever on the old time and our bodies won't adjust! We just do whatever the cats tell us, anyway, haha.
My pic this week is the wreath I made at class last weekend.
Photo QOTD:
I'm keeping: 1.) Apple Cider 2.) Fluffy Blankets 3.) Pies 4.) Turkey Stuffing. But I will miss everything else (except football).
Accountability: Along with my inability to sleep on a normal schedule, my food schedule is all off too. The saddest part of yesterday was that I discovered that the chicken breast I bought for my epic tacos got left in the trunk, so I had to sub in a veggie burger for chicken and it was fine, but not EPIC. Sad. I also ate too many pop-corners.
- Protein coffee
- eggs
- chicken
- I'll try my tacos again! Wish me luck!

Good Friday morning QJB and menuers,
Pretty wreath! You have so much natural artistic talent. Good luck with tacos and teaching.
QOTD- sweaters, blankets, smores, stuffing
I'm part of a review team for a RFP and have been assigned 6 proposals. That's what I'm doing today. The cap was 20 pages, so naturally one is 64. Yep.
Veterans, thank you for your service.
Menu today is yogurt, shaved turkey breast, leftover sausage, something with eggs, hummus, peanut butter sammich.
Pics are from the retreat. Cheers, everyone.

Good mornin y'all.
Yesterday's appointment for my mom didn't go all that well. The EKG showed she might have had a heart attack in the past. So she has to have some testing done and is wearing a heart monitor for a month.her stress test is Wednesday and the echocardiogram is in January. It might have been a fluke, the thing with it showing a heart attack, but it's is best to be cautious. I am very worried but not freaking out. Freaking out does no one any good.
I'm hoping to not do a lot today. My pain levels are sky high. I woke up the most recent time almost screaming oh my god over and over. I've also been having very vivid dreams. This mornings was about the marvel universe. Of which I am not a particularly big fan of. That part made me laugh though. It's only supposed to get to 48° today.
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all those who have served!
QOTD: apple cider, s'mores, cranberry sauce and maybe hot cocoa...honestly I don't do many of them lol
B: I couldn't think of anything so I had a small bowl of chili. Odd yes but I didn't want to cook anything
L: probably more chili
D: ????
my pics are of my favorite veterans. My grandpa of course and the last one is my late uncle Olen who served 2 and a half tours in Vietnam.

Morning gang. It's my last day of in-home PT today, and I'll start going to them next Wednesday. I backed off on the pain meds yesterday. I've been taking them by the clock, strictly, so I don't know if they're helping or not. If they aren't a help, there's no point in taking them.
I'm a little food-anxious. Since I came back here last February until October 23, I'd been eating very consistently. Same foods, same times, same calories. I never ate between 6pm and 6am. Consistency makes things easier for me.
But I didn't want to be on reduced calories when healing. I wanted to make sure I got protein in pretty much around the clock, so I don't go more than about 6 hours between eating. I've upped calories, and added a few foods in.
But I can't gauge where I am, you know? I came home from the hospital ten pounds up, and it's stayed right there. I measured both legs yesterday, and one knee is 5 inches bigger than the other, and 4 inches in the thigh. It's a lot of inflammation that's going to take a long time to go away, according to the docs.
Anyway, it's reintroduced food worries that I haven't dealt with in a while. I know we all suffer from that to some extent, and just needed to vent.
