What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good morning! Yay for sleep. Weird dreams, but still, sleep! Yesterday was another long day of mostly being home because of brown dog and my ankle. He's doing better and needed much less pain meds yesterday. He gets the drain out tonight and then he won't have to stay in the pen. He'll have to wear the collar until the stiches come out, but he'll be so happy to have the whole house to roam again.
I was very good on food and only drank water. This week, because I am home, I have been having more dense meals. Not more caloric. And I haven't needed my afternoon snack once. I think part of it is I can't get out and burn any calories so my body isn't needing quite as much. Whatever it is, it's helping me get off the Vegas pounds and I'm inching close to my pre cruise weight again. I'm going to keep trying to maintain this schedule. But I am really itching to get out walking. Not feasible for me right now, but a girl has to have goals.
QoTD: We don't decorate at all. Nothing. And we are ok with that. There is something freeing about just being very calm through the holidays. That said, I am preparing a basket of crafts to take Thanksgiving weekend to the desert with the kids and Grands. I've got a plan to keep the Grands busy for hours making decorations to hang in one of their trees on the property while the adults play cards and enjoy adult beverages.
Menu today
B: some of my stuffed butternut squash dish with a fried egg on top
L: I ended up making cod for dinner last night with onions, mushroom and garlic. There is a perfect leftover portion of it.
D: Not sure. I hope to cook, but brown dog's appt is at 6 pm. It's an emergency facility only, doesn't open til then. They said 6 is usually the best time to get in and out fast before crisis' start happening. So we may get takeout. Chipotles sounds good.
Peace Everybody.

QOTD- Usually after Thanksgiving if I decorate. Last year I had my Christmas Village and a tree and everything. It was good. This year maybe we'll have some outdoor lights too.
Yesterday was an awful day. Sissy one of my kittens had not been feeling well for a couple of days. I attributed it to the yogurt she ate that I left on my desk. The night before she knocked over the self waterer and I mopped it up with a towel and she just lay on the wet towel. I replaced it with a dry one and that is where I found her in the morning. I don't think she moved all night. So I grabbed the cat carrier and rushed off at about 5:30AM to the 24/7 emergency vet clinic in NW Portland. It was dark and rainy and a horrible drive, with her crying and me struggling to find the place. The end result was she had something seriously wrong with her kidneys and I ended up having to put her down. The choice was spend $6,000-8,000 and she probably would not have made it. So I made the sad decision to let her go.
They have a room that is called the comfort room. The lighting was low and they brought her into me and I held her in my arms as she went. It was so hard...
So I made some poor choices at the store double stuff oreos, bugles and cracker jack for the sugar and junk food. Plus some more Chardonnay. I had my own pity party and today I need to get back on track.
I will be better today.
Have a great day everyone!

I'm so sorry about Sissy. That's incredibly sad. If it were me, I'd have a few more pity parties.
Big hugs.
