I saw that musical a year or so ago - I thought it was terrific, too!!

What do they make the ice cream with? Avocado? Oat milk? I see some vegan ice creams in the grocery aisle but have never tried one

Don't know if the grocery stores ones are the same.

I would give it a try if I saw it. I have read the ones in the grocery store, they seem to be things like avocado, cashew milk, oat milk, I think I've seen some coconut as well. Ice cream isn't a huge draw for me so I've never tried any of it.

I figured. Even for me, an icecream aficionado, I don't go out of my way to consume vegan icecream. But the dinner was meh and I was trying to find something to cheer me up. And it just so happened that they had this vegan place nearby.

Mornin' All!

it's so nice having it light in the morning again! It's another beautiful day to boot - in the 60s and sunny. I'll be out biking or walking for sure. The only thing scheduled thing I have is class at 4:00 - so I've got the whole day!

not much going on. MIL is out of the hospital again. She went in for leg pain, but they were able to treat that (it wasn't a heart attack, as was feared). They thought they saw pneumonia on one of her lungs, so they kept her in the hospital for a couple of days to monitor that, but evidently that wasn't it. So...she's back home again.

QOTD: I think in general I'm mostly positive - but that New Age positivity seems fakey to me - too over-the-top. People crying all day would make me uncomfortable, too.

btw - some good things about my new osteoporosis drug: I'm actually sleeping 7-8 hours most nights (as opposed to around 5), I no longer have to use Miralax (the drug can supposedly cause diarrhea in some people, but in my case (i.e, chronically constipated without Miralax's assistance), that means I'm normal again), AND...it seems to have lessened my appetite. Thank God! Now - hopefully I'll lose a few pounds. Weight loss is a common side effect of this stuff. Halleleujah!

coffee with half & half

protein pancakes topped with Carbmaster cinnamon yogurt and cranberry compote

hummus sandwich with tomato and cuke slices

protein shake or Ratio yogurt

taco filling over cabbage/lettuce/carrot mix, topped with plain Greek yogurt, chopped tomato, and salsa

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning. What a few days it's been. Vegas was great fun. I had so many bites of fun foods. Never really over did it in that category, but we can all guess what I over indulged in. And walking on my ankle was not a lot of fun, but I still managed to make it everywhere we are going and even did it in heels. Not high ones though! We went to a place after our fancy "Thanksgiving" dinner called Flight Club at the Palazzo. So much fun. Throwing darts, no skill required. We had a blast. I met a ton of great people and chefs and so many people kept sending bites to our tables! I went slow, choose carefully and allowed myself to indulge the littlest bit so I didn't get sick. And thankfully, most of it was protein. Though that blueberry muffin they made me take home for morning coffee...

And then we came home to a critically sick brown dog. He had emergency surgery about midnight on Saturday. Got him home yesterday and managed his care all day and then back to the ER this morning at 2 am. He's going to have some tough days ahead of him and my days will be spent managing his medication schedule, hot packs, outside needs. I also need to organize vitamins for me, make a stop at the grocery store for more cottage cheese because he's using all mine up and arrange PT for my ankle. And nap. There will be naps today.

QoTD: Exactly like QJB's except you would have to add in eye rolling. I am a super positive person, can find the good in nearly anything, but being told to journal or turn something around will get a lot of eye rolling from me. Well, not a lot, because I would make myself scarce real fast.

Menu today

B: leftover Shakshuka eggs. Dang I did a great job on these. Especially since it was just pulling ingredients out of the fridge after we landed to brown dog crisis. They kept me out of the fast food drive through.

L: not sure. Chicken bites and cottage cheese? Maybe some pop chips to go with that

D: roasted butternut squash stuffed with sweet potato, bacon, boursin or laughing cow cheese and chopped dried cranberries and pistachios.

Peace everybody!
