What's on your Monday Menu?

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your extra hour. I was glad for it :)

I had a busy weekend. Saturday was class prep, and Sunday I taught all day at the fancy barn. It was a lovely day. My knee is in terrible shape after two long days on my feet, though, so I hope I can take it easy today. It's not great that between the two of us we only have one working knee!

QOTD: Do you respond well to new-age, feel-good positive thinking? The fancy-barn lady is one of those people who only speaks words aloud that she wants to be true and is relentlessly positive. If you say, "I don't know" about a decision in your life, she turns it around and tells you to journal the prompt, "What if you DID know?" I found it somewhat exhausting but the rest of the crowd there yesterday loved it and many of them burst into tears all day with gratitude. I am not sure why I don't respond to that. I like positive thinking, but I guess I am just too sarcastic to speak in relentlessly positive words all day! And in my defense I was the only one who wasn't crying all day, lol.

Accountability: I was perfect this weekend except for an apple cider donut at the end of the day yesterday. About an hour after I went to bed, I got a tummy ache, and it really bothered me all night. I imagine it was a reaction to a lot more raw veggies than usual in my diet for the last few days, but I am not sure and I have no desire to eat right now. This is my best guess:

  • protein coffee
  • scrambled egg
  • shrimp caesar salad
  • butternut squash "lasagna" (no noodles--just squash, ricotta, and herbs)

Morning gang. It's a new week, yay!

My days are pretty much the same. More knee rehabbing. I did spend much of Saturday at my brother's house. He's putting an insulated door in his 5 year old house, to try and keep cold air out of his basement. So I was construction supervisor, but I still overdid things. I mostly sat on my butt all day yesterday recuperating. I'll have 2 more days of home PT this week, then start outpatient therapy next week.

QOTD: The New Age happy upbeat stuff really makes my sphincter tighten. I just don't get it at all. It feels cultish to me. I already consider myself overly optimistic, but I'm a million miles from those folks.

Mornin QJB and everyone!

Not a lot to report today. I'm feeling a little rough. My mom may want to do something but I don't know what. The only thing I have to do is go pick up a prescription. I think she is wanting to go to a dollar tree for a few little things.

The weekend was ok.

QOTD: I do think positivity is great but I also believe in toxic positivity. I've had a lot of people try to shove this stuff down my throat and it's a no go. Sometimes things just suck. I too thrive on sarcasm.

food is undecided as of yet. Salad likely for lunch.

have a great day everyone!

Good morning all! QJB it sounds like your weekend was a success, minus the fact that you and Grim both overdid it with your knees grrrrrrr. I hope you can both elevate your legs and watch cozy mysteries and have cat lap warmers today.

I had a fabulous little weekend away in Philadelphia with two girlfriends. Amazing Airbnb, two incredible meals, (more meals than that but two were something to write home about at Suraya and Talula's Garden) and a 4 hour bike tour. Plus tons of walking, chatting, etc. It felt good to sleep in my own bed last night though. I'm off to jazzercise in a few minutes. It's my new favorite workout. The class is Cardio Sculpt 60 and it's a mix of dancing and weights. It really works! I love the energy of the room.

BUT, that brings me to your QOTD. I am unfailingly positive but THAT kind of positive drives me insane. Not my speed at all.

B: deli meat and cheese

L: maybe impossible nuggets?

D: leftover tilapia and couscous

Do you ever go to the grocery without a plan and then come home and realize you need all sorts of additional things? Yeah, that was me yesterday. So now I have to have another order delivered to augment. Meh.

Good morning JB and menu friends. Drive by posting today, busy Monday.

Another good weekend, we were able to get our to do list checked off around the house and seem to be well prepared for winter. Snow flurries are in the forecast for Thursday.

I hit a raccoon with my truck on Saturday night, did not think I had done any damage. There is an auto air dam that drops down from the front bumper, engages over 40 mph. The raccoon broke a bracket on one side, i had to remove it and now trying to determine if i replace the bracket or leave it as is. I read it can improve mpg by 4-6 miles.

Thursday will mark 7 weeks on Mounjaro, I am down 10 lbs. I have been amazed that I feel so similar to first year following surgery. Next week I will celebrate my 9 year surgiversary.

QOTD - No, I do not like when it is over the top. I enjoy positive , but not rah rah.

B- Aldi Keto Bar

S - Yogurt and raspberries

L - Chili

S - Cukes and ranch

D - Michigans and baked sweet potatoe fries.
