What's on your Thursday Menu?
I'd like to see JB on a tractor.

Good morning all and Happy Thursday,
I've had to take a timeout for twix. I overdid it and the incision is now painful when I sit. I spent most of yesterday laying down, as a result.
QJB- Glad the ring alert was nothing but a false alarm. Some people here have returned to using the club as a deterrent. It sounds like you made the right decision jobwise and it will pay off in spades when you get multiple offers for desirable jobs.
QOTD- I've never skied(why doesn't this tense have two i's?) I've attempted to go skiing multiple times and it didn't work out, i.e. a car fire on the way, a broken nose the night before and other randomness have been road blocks. I can take a hint. Skiing is not meant for me. Now snowboarding...
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.
L: Carnitas, avocado, cilantro, onions. Salad.
D: baked buff wings, carrots, cucumber ranch yogurt dressing
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

I've never snowboarded. Two skis seems better than one board.

Good morning, everybody!
A couple of months ago I started composing this in depth analysis of how 9 game home and home scheduling works in a 16 team conference as compared to the simplicity of a 10 game conference.
Well, I got about 2/3 of the way through the analysis and realized that Chrissy probably doesn't find this quite as interesting as I do. So, I just left it as we had to wait until the schedule comes out.
Yesterday the Big 12 released its 2024-2027 schedule plan and Baylor is playing at WVU next year. That means the Fam is packing up and heading to see Chrissy, Ron and Rudy!
They haven't released dates and we have a three weekend trip to Asia, but I am confident that we will be feasting at a Morgantown tailgate next fall. Unfortunately, Baylor has never won in Morgantown.
QOTD: Somewhat similar to Mike, but not as long or as good of a hockey player. It's been about 10 years and about 5 since I've skated, so I think I'm done at this point. I would like to see Sheila shush down the hill with flair and elan. Or JB operate the snow groomer from her tractor, apparently.
Breakfast: Frittata
Lunch: catered
Dinner: steak
I'm going away this weekend, so need to get to CrossFit in order to hit my 4 for the week.
Have a great day, all!

Hi Jim - did you read about the tragedy in the English Pro Hockey League? ( Player death, skate blade to the neck). I woke up early on Sunday morning and clicked on the story and then video and really wish I had not. I coached for 20 years and a neck laceration injury was my biggest fear. Very sad and tragic. The layers are so fast and in such great shape today..neck guards should be mandatory.

Yes, that was terrible, so glad I didn't see it live.

Mornin' All!
temps are headed back up here in Wisconsin - high 40s today, 50s over the weekend! YAY!! All I have today is a luncheon at our community/technical college's culinary arts dept. It's next to impossible to get in (people buy up the tickets as soon as they're released, it seems), but someone I know snagged 20 of them and invited a bunch of friends. Glad to be part of that, since I've been wanting to go forever. The menu this month is Mexican (they usually have three entree choices) - so should be good! (well, I guess it's always good - but I do like Mexican food!). They'll do some sort of upscale thing with it - really looking forward to this!
QOTD: I went downhill skiing once when I was in my early 20s. Stayed on the bunny slope the whole time. I live in fear of slipping and falling on ice or snow (even moreso now that I have crappy bones), so putting a couple of very long boards on my feet and intentionally sliding down a hill seemed nuts to me, but a friend really wanted to go, so.. I spent much of that day in the lodge sipping hot chocolate, although at least I TRIED skiing. Anyway, that was in North Carolina, where they do have some mountains for skiing. In Wisconsin, everybody does cross-country rather than downhill (unless they're going out to Colorado or somewhere). Never tried it. I've heard it's quite strenuous and great exercise, but I don't have a huge desire to try it.
I was brave and stepped on the scale this morning. Only 0.4 lbs up from last week. Given all the eating events I've been to since then, I was pleasantly surprised. At least I have a bit of brea****il Thanksgiving (only one or two events until then, I think) - when things will get dicey again.
coffee with half & half
plain skyr with cranberry compote
FF/SF hot cocoa
Mexican lunch
Ratio yogurt
not sure about dinner - probably salad and some kind of protein
ex: there was a sub for water aerobics this morning, so I didn't go. The last sub they had played what she thought was "old people music". I'd guess everyone in the class is in their 60s or 70s. Give us "Born to be Wild", not stuff from the 1940s. Sheesh. These young people. My grandparents listened to that - not us Boomers. Anyway, I'll probably take a walk this afternoon. It'll be 48 degrees and not windy, so it'll be fine for walking.
