Congrats! Were they Nyakers(sp) in the red tin? Used to get those from World Market on the holidays.

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers,

Stay sage and warm with that storm! Ice can do a lot of damage.

Your meme makes me think of the movie Idiocracy. Sometimes it feels like we're headed that way incredibly fast.

QOTD- Back when I was about 7, and as one of my earliest memories, I'd been watching some media that included swinging from branches of trees. I was standing on the roof of the stilt playhouse my father was building, probably 15 feet in the air. I grabbed a branch and jumped because obviously it was a fun thing to do. I remember hitting the tree. We didn't have insurance so doctors weren't an option so I don't know how hurt I might have been but there was no blood, just a lot of yelling. My mother saw me do it and to this day swears that I just grabbed a leaf and jumped. If that had been the case, not sure how I hit the tree. Ah, good times.

More rain today and I've already done my out of the house things. It's supposed to freeze pretty good for a few nights so I'll probably put the backup heater out in the well house during one of the breaks in the rain. I already managed the branch that came down on my shed, though I still need another set of hands to help with the pole barn.

I have a few recipes to try out today and some spaghetti squash to cook. And I'm craving French onion soup.

Oh, and my body seems to have kicked back into gear and is making up for seven months of lost time. I'm taking this as another sign I'm bouncing back some. Thankful every day that I don't feel so frail.

Menu today is egg salad, ratio yogurt, chopped turkey salad with homemade carrot ginger dressing, tuna salad on toast with cheese, protein pudding.

Bonus pic of the trees on my road up the way from my house. Love fall. Cheers.

A doctor told me once that it takes a year to recovery from surgery, even though they tell you it is six weeks. I am glad you are feeling better and know that will continue to improve.
