Good Morning Gang! I am happy to report that Grim has a new left knee and he's doing great! He's already walking! As far as I can tell, his biggest complaint is that there is only turkey sausage for breakfast. I am going to head back in at 11am when they allow visitors and assuming all is still going well, he will be released not too long after that, and I get to take him home :)

I'm sure all of you know that I consider Maine my second home and I am just so sad about the mass shooting there. It's so upsetting :(

QOTD: Does your cell phone have good battery life? This iPhone has been great for a few years, but suddenly in the last few weeks, my battery is running down awfully quickly. Since it's a sudden change I should probably do some research to see if there is an app that's draining it because I really don't want a new phone until I am employed again.

Accountability: I ate breakfast, and then... nothing. It was a long day. Hopefully I can manage a little more balance today.

Glad you're all okay and Grim is doing well.

And just learned about the shooting because you shared...such a terrible thing.

Yay for Grim and a new knee. He must be absolutely annoyed to be offered turkey bacon. The situation in Maine is horrifying and very sad, which is also the theme for so many world events these days.

QOTD - yes, but I maximize it by making everything pull not push and regularly use low batt mode if I'm away all day. You can check your battery health and see if it's the battery itself, I had to replace one in another version of my phone and it was about $100, much cheaper than a new one.

I was up early so even though I didn't prep for my in office day today, I am all set with everything I need plus my morning workout. I will probably add a boxing one when I get home, commuting makes me want to box, lol.

I might hit the grocery store on my way home and pick up something to put in the crockpot on Saturday since it will be our first snowy day, I'm feeling like a nice chili or stew.

menu today

Hey, peeps! I'm bored out of my mind. This entire hospital doesnt have a single bandsaw. And dont even get me started on turkey sausage. I've had one quest bar since 6:00 on Monday. But I'm still not hungry enough to eat turkey sausage.

They let me walk whenever I want, and I've been doing laps around this unit every hour or so. Fingers crossed, I go home in 6 or 7 hours. I think it depends more on their doing paperwork than on my health.

QOTD: my cell has good battery life, but it's only a year or so old. My tablet doesn't run for long without being plugged in. I think I got it in early 2020, right before the pandemic.

I'm soooo glad you're on the other side and feeling good! Being bored and wanting to leave means you're on the mend. I am impressed you're walking every hour. Modern medical practices are truly amazing.
Maybe try the turkey sausage? Because yum. Also, so you don't fall over from being famished!

I'm sure you're excited to get home to the queen and kitties. Do you have any restrictions? Or can you go up and down stairs and stuff?

I feel I would be dishonoring the spirit of that poor turkey. Plus, yuck.

I'm sure there will be restrictions, but I don't know what they are yet. I need to get cleared by PT first. They have "practice stairs," whatever those are.

Glad to hear the surgery was successful and that you're doing well after surgery. Now that you can walk to the pitcher's mound pain free, the Hartford Yard Goats' national anthem tryouts are in March. From there, it's a hop, skip, and a jump(now with the new knee) to pitch in the minor leagues.

Love the cartoons.

Mornin y'all. So happy Grim's procedure went so well! Woot!

Yesterday was rough. If you missed my update I had to go to the ER yesterday for a stupid X-ray. The neurosurgery nurse said I had to have one done to make sure there is no acute damage. They told my my PCP had to be the one to do it. I called my PCP's office and they couldn't do it until mid December. Then they TOLD me to go to the ER. Know what the X-ray showed? A mucked up back. Shocker. But at least it's done. Now I need to call again today since she doesn't return calls...she said she tried to call and got no answer...bull shiiiiit. I'm spittin mad. Also very ad and depressed but now I'm running on spite. Thorn meet side.

Not sure we'll do much today. I'm already on my second cup of strong coffee.

The thing in Maine is so upsetting for me too. My high school best friend lives near there. I don't understand that kind of hate and hope I never do. It's still so shocking to me... Every. Single. Time.

QOTD: relatively. It's a cheap crap phone. I'm hoping to have enough money saved up to get an older model iPhone. I use tracfone so I'm hoping to get by December.

B: oatmeal and coffee x2

L: GF wrap

D: ????
