Good Morning and it's Friday-Eve peeps. Back to work for a crazy busy two days for me. Gotta love frog and toad.

I've been blocked! One of the old-timers from years ago pops in every few months and posts. Califsleevin, has a post today on an RNY board thread. And I can't see it without logging out, because I must have passed him off years ago. Oh well. I am curious about what I said.

he was suggesting the 500 lb woman who I think might be the same one who posts on the site occasionally under different names look into the DS (if for no other reason, because the surgeons who offer those are probably more used to dealing with people with BMIs that high)

Thanks. I actually logged out and looked. I find it kind of funny.

There were a hard core group of DSers back in the day that were downright evangelical.

Good morning, everybody!

I'm a big Frog and Toad fan also, QJB. I believe that one of the first things I ever posted on the RNY thread was Wind in the Willows as an answer to favorite children's story QOTD. Au Contraire replied that she adored Wind in the Willows. I miss her.

Marilyn gets home at about 11:00 tonight. I will pick her up at the airport. I may go out for dinner to keep the house clean.

I didn't post yesterday because i decided to go into the office at the last minute. DD is coming home tomorrow and we are going down to Cincinnati for a football game. My original plan was to do what the kids call "coffee badging" on Friday, but the more that I thought about it, the more that it made sense to just leave straight from our house on Friday morning, without the Return to Office Detour. So I went in yesterday and attended an in person meeting.

We need to average three days a week of badge swipes. I'm not sure how things like vacations, etc. figure into the math, but I'm trying to comply.

My endocrinologist appointment on Tuesday went pretty well. She said don't lose anymore weight, which I wasn't planning on trying to do. My Iron was too high, so she said just take 5 a week. Being over nourished has been a consistent theme with me, I've had to back down my D, B12, Calcium and now Iron over the 5 plus years.

My AIC was 7.0, which she said that she was content with. I would like to be a little lower. Even though I'm not trying to lose, I do want to get back more towards the Whole 30 diet because I felt and slept better when I was doing it.

QOTD: Only 4 or 5 days. I can go in a tight rotation for a long time, but not the same thing every meal.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: Catered

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

I walked my new dog 3 times yesterday and once today. She came from the shelter and is a sweetie. They were on the verge of putting her down to her anxiety behaviors. She is still house-training but she is going to be a great dog. I did increase my steps from an average of 1200 to 9200 yesterday and reduced my calorie intake from an average of 3200 to 1500 so I was ok with that for my first day on my lifestyle again without any pre-preparation. I really need to go to the store to get foods that will fit in my lifestyle but won't have time until Wednesday to go shopping. So for now, I will eat what is in my pantry/freezer

QOTD - I could eat the same thing every day if it was biscuits and gravy! Otherwise, the most I could eat the same food is 3 days.

B- Leftover Shrimp/Broccoli

L- Premier Protein Coffee and Turkey with Cheese

D- Chicken fajitas

S - Banana

Good morning! Jet lag is slowly abating. I was in bed at 9 again, but today I stayed asleep until almost 6. My norm is more like 10:30 to 6 am. I'm getting there. I got great groceries yesterday. Lots of fun stuff to cook, but most of it easily on plan and a few little splurge dinner items. Moussaka...do you hear me calling? My MRI was fast and easy and I got some weed pulling done, a bit of housework and got the kitchen straightened out. I'm calling that my exercise. I've got to get back out walking and moving. Maybe today. Oh and I went to book club where they were nominating books for 2024. I mostly just observed, but made lots of notes so I can read some of them after they select the twelve for next year.

Today brings a whole lot of nothing. My calendar is completely blank. Other than I realized I forgot sour cream, so a quick pop into the grocery store for that. That is a long day of nothing stretching out in front of me. I will try to stay close to home because boredom leads to retail therapy which leads to spending money which I do not need to do!

QoTD: No..a few meals in a row, yes. And I usually love that. Then I start thinking "I need crunch factor! I need creamy! Cheese, wouldn't cheese be amazing right now?".

Menu today

B: cottage cheese and leftover Korean short ribs I made last night

L: deli turkey, cheese, pop chips

D: I think I'm going for the Moussaka. I've got all the ingredients and all day to prep stuff for it! The only real plan unfriendly part is the Béchamel sauce on top, so I'll go easy on that!

Ok...moving on in our vacay...today's pictures are of Thessaloniki. We saw the ruins of Dion at the foot of Mt. Olympus, Roger made another buddy, lunch in Litochoro. This is where the tzatziki was so amazing and I Google mapped them yesterday and hunted down contact info and begged for their recipe. We shall see. Then the beginnings of happy hour tradition in our cabin. The second set is sailing into port in Istanbul.
