Mornin' All!

my first Forteo injection (for osteoporosis) seemed to go well. Super skinny needle that I swear I didn't feel at all. I kept waking up last night wondering if I felt dizzy or lightheaded yet (the drug tends to lower blood pressure, and mine is on the low end to begin with - so I'm a likely candidate to experience dizziness and fainting spells as a side effect). I did feel a bit that way, but not much - and still feeling that way now, after being up for two hours - but not enough that I feel like I'm going to faint or anything - so I may be OK! I'm hoping that I'll be lucky enough to experience the weight loss side effect...that would be terrific!!

not much on the agenda today, other than it's MIL's birthday so I'll swing by one of the bakeries and get her a cake. I really wanted to make apple clafoutis for her b-day (I made it for a potluck a couple of weeks ago and it was really great!). But she is one of those people who always sees the negative in EVERYTHING, so she would probably think I made it because I was too cheap to buy her a cake from a bakery. So...I'd better hit a bakery today). I also need to finish watching a movie for one of my classes - and watch another one for one of my film discussion groups that meets on Friday (although I can hold off a day or two on that one if I don't get around to it today).

QOTD: Nope. But I did get a costume for last year's OH conference costume party (cat ears, a cat tail, and a black makeup crayon to draw whiskers on my face). I didn't dress up for that at this year's conference but I did take it along just in case. This will serve as my costume for years to come whenever I happen to need one...which is almost never.

coffee with half & half

might make crumpets from some of the sourdough starter I have in my fridge (I have a ton of it...again). So maybe that with butter and jam and some yogurt for breakfast

protein shake? (that's a big maybe)

salad with leftover chicken shawarma

broccoli cheese soup

kiwi

Danish bread

??

have a great day, everyone!

It's great that you don't seem to have any reactions to the med. I hope you enjoy the visit with your MIL for her birthday.

I haven't settled on one yet - didn't even realize naming it was a "thing" until I started reading up on it (and until Lisa said something about it here on OH!).

Low BP as a side effect is a scary possibility. Glad you're being careful. Good luck with the birthday today.

Good morning! Hilarious meme today lol.

I have a zillion short meetings today which means context switching constantly and finally begging some poor soul to start 3 minutes late for a bio break. But these days are not the norm at my new gig and the rest of the week is quieter. My last company laid off 20% of the employees last week including a bunch of amazing people from my old team so this week I'm doing supportive 1:1s, resume reviews, LinkedIn summary consulting etc. They'll be so much better off elsewhere but it's tough to be uncertain about when you'll get your next paycheck. They got 10 weeks severance so I'm pretty envious of that!

Qotd - nope not in the least.

B: boars head honey turkey and havarti cheese

l: chicken quesadilla

d: salmon and fries for DH and leftover mac and cheese for DD. Not sure what I will have yet. I have to scour the freezer!

Have the best day all.

You've got the best heart and I know you'll help each of them and make sure they land on their feet. Are you loving your new job?

You're so sweet! I care about them all, so deeply. They'll never not be my team in my heart!

I?m in week 5 and loving it! I made the right decision, hands-down!
