What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good morning! I hope everyone had a nice long weekend, or a good Monday if you had to work. Our trip to the Ren Fair was fun. It's a lot different since the last time I was there in the 90s. At some point during that time period "Renaissance" became conflated with "Middle Earth" and there were far more fairies and elves than royalty. Another change is that most of the 5000 people who were there were in costume. Last time I was there I remember a few dressed up, but now it's everyone. Anyway, it was fun and people watching was 1000%. I definitely had a deep urge to buy a cute floral headband with antlers but then I remembered that this is not my thing and I snapped out of it before I spent $100 on one ;)
The best part of the day was that even after a day of walking my knee was not too bad! It ached a little but even by the time we came home it was only a little swollen and not terrible at all. It's usually in much worse shape just from standing in the kitchen for a few hours, so this was a big win. I'm wondering if going for walks might be in my future again?
Today will start with some errands, including a trip to Costco, but then I need to get back to job applications. I saw some promising over the weekend in the nonprofit sector. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it might be a good compromise.
QOTD: Are you a costume person? I'm somewhere in the middle. If it's the company culture to dress up, or a friend's party I will do it and have fun! But I'm not really one to seek out an opportunity for cosplay.
Accountability: The options were very limited for food, so I had some dried out chicken tenders, two glasses of mead and a few tiny bites of fudge :)

Glad you enjoyed the Ren Fest, they are so fun. Supposedly standing a long time is much harder than walking so maybe you should give walking a try?.but don?t walk a marathon tomorrow or try to crack a 10 minute mile right away.
yesterday was lovely and I think my niece had a fantastic day. At dinner I had a small bite of tirimisu, rum cake and spumoni and skipped the bites of pecan pie and triple chocolate cake and it was perfect.
today is travel and getting my aunt settled in at my house for the next two weeks and then back to work tomorrow. I can?t wait to get home and have all my exercise equipment, I?m pretty sure my fit bit thinks I?m dead.
Menu today
coffee plus half and half x2 (and probably a coffee at the airport too)
left over filet
protein bar en route
dinnee tbd
have a terrific Tuesday all
Oops, forgot the QOTD - as a long time convention goer, I think costuming for an event takes you from geek to freak but I love the freaks! The amount of care and $ that goes into some of these costumes is amazing! I do draw up for costume events more frequently as a skinny person, there are simply more options. I am currently trying to decide between year 3 of my penguin onesie to hand out candy or switch it up and get a unicorn one. It's usually so cold on Halloween that the onesie has been perfect, lol

Good mornin everyone. In a lot of pain right now so I'm trying to ignore it. Bad enough that I would go to the ER if I thought anything would come of it. It's hard to get up and walk.
I cooked a pie pumpkin yesterday. One half sweet spices and the other herbs and savory. The later is my favorite! So good. Also the grocery store had winter squashes again this year, I got a carnival and a delicata that I'm abnormally excited about. It's the only time of year we can get them here.
Not sure of what we'll do today. I think we're going to stock up on meat & poultry as we have a coupon at a certain grocery store. Hoping to get some decent cucumbers which I've been obsessed with as of late. I like the English ones but they've been super narrow lately. I think it's the crunch I'm craving.
QOTD: I know A LOT of cosplayers...I mean a lot! I'm not one of them as mainly there isn't a good choice of cons here...No ren fair near here either. The chainmaille world is deep into it. I have a few good friends that make the armor stuff like hauberks, mantles and coifs. I don't have the patience to work on that big of pieces myself. I would dress up for a ren fair but I'm not into many fandoms that I'd want to dress up over.
B: oatmeal and coffee x2
L: salad with chicken or fish
D: I'll do fish if not for lunch
S: small avocado with lime pepper, a pumpkin spice Twinkie.

I wish there was an easy button, Mel. Surviving day to day is rough with no relief in sight. I'm sorry. Your pumpkin sounds great!

Good morning QJB and menuers,
Glad you had fun at the fair. Hope there are some good leads on jobs for you today, and yay for your knee being not too bad.
QOTD- nah. Just my chicken headband and Oktoberfest hat. Costumes are specialty items that mean money and storage. I need a really, really good reason to have something like that.
This morning I feel like an overstuffed sausage in my skin. Lots of bloating or whatnot, which is typical coming out of a trip. Tally: 21 states, ~4,700 miles, 2 menuers! Really glad I scratched that itch. Reality ha**** hard, though. I'll be wading through a whole lot of less than fun conversations this week. Some of them keep me up at night.
Today is much needed pest control. Presentation happened yesterday. Lots of lawyers and red tape today. Also lots of yearly planning stuff I need to spend the evening on tonight.
Yesterday was Mr. Oliver's birthday. He's 3 now...time goes so fast.
Menu today is ratio yogurt, sausages, eggs, scavenging in the freezer. I did not meal prep on Sunday so much as pass out. And I think I can return to my regularly scheduled bariatric menu since I haven't lost weight in a month. I'm flexing up and down ten pounds, which seems to be my normal...but not going down. Woo!
Birthday pup.
