What's on your Thursday Menu?

Good Morning and Happy Junior Friday! Phew, I worked straight through yesterday from about 6am - 10pm without as much as a 10 minute break but it felt great to get a lot done. I didn't even get back here to read yesterday's thread until this morning.
Ok, I am having a really hard time with this job search and feeling very defeated. It's becoming quite clear that I am not wanted outside the education sector, so I guess I have to put my tail between my legs and go back to applying to schools. The problem is that there are no school openings in October, so this kind of sucks. It feels like such a waste of time to spend 6-8 hours a day applying for jobs outside of education but that's all that is out there. I feel so stuck and confused about what I should be doing with my life. Why can't I just win the lottery and do what I love? Boooo.
QOTD: Do you have any fall traditions? Growing up we were full of fall traditions including the local harvest fair, apple picking, fall walks in the woods, and annual drive up to Maine, bonfires, etc. I still love it all but it gets further and further way from me. I'd love to go apple picking, but we really don't need a bushel of apples!

Good morning menuers!
This morning I'm in Portland, Maine. I normally avoid cities of any size but have been bucking that trend a little this trip.
Yesterday was fun and not. I got a walk on sailing ticket for a four masted schooner in Bar Harbor. Had a great breakfast and walk around town. Also fell over old dog as he tried to run away from a small child, so various pieces are a bit ripped up from kissing the concrete. The public crowdsourced some awesome bandages. Yay, public!
JB, what types of jobs are you applying for?
QOTD- This road trip has been one the past few years. I don't like doing the exact same things over and over but I'll go vaguely the same places. I intentionally expand to places I haven't been. NY state fair was one as a kid. Cording wood. I'm sure other things, too.
Today is Portland and either Gilbert's or Billy's chowder house. I'm prone to stopping for any signs for interesting things but will be well out of Maine by the end of the day. Roughly planning to be in the middle of PA, then.
Pic is the boat. Beautiful weather. I got a bit of a burn for not wearing a high necked shirt yesterday.
Menu is a protein bag, chowder, clams, TBD. Cheers!

DCGirl and I made tons of friends in the rainy, cold line getting into Gilbert's...she liked the chowder, I don't remember what I had....not chowder, lol.

That sounds like a vote for Gilbert's! You're not a seafoodie, if I recall correctly, so good of you to go to a specialty chowder place! I'm debating the parking situation while waiting for my omelet. Still hours before chowder is an option...and this place sadly does not have it on the menu this early. :)

You and DCGirl are the two friendliest people on earth and you could both probably make friends in an abandoned underground nuclear tunnel, haha ;)

Thanks. Do not recommend getting up close and personal with asphalt. And it is! I focus on the good as much as possible. :)

If you like Lobster you have to go to Highroller Lobster co. They have a lobster cheese crisp taco. The taco shell is made with melted cheese that is formed into a taco shell. OMG so good.

One other thing the Fryeburg Fair is going in Maine. Such a great fair to visit.

Noted, thank you! They open at 11 and I'm hoping to hit and run a lunch place before evacuating. They're a quarter mile from this dock I'm on, so will walk over after breakfast.
Thanks for the fair...it looks amazing and isn't too far away. Looks like they don't allow the doggos, sadly. Boo.
