5lbs in 13 days was easy when we were at our heaviest, less so now when you are slim (even if you want to be slimmer). Just do what you can before you leave, enjoy yourself while vacationing and don't be too hard on yourself in between!

QOTD- As long as the animals are still around I am good. My cats for company and also keep the internet working and power on.

My roommate is home from the hospital. There is a service called Medically Home and he has paramedics, a NP, and video calls to the Dr and nurses. They come in 3 times a day to give him IV antibiotics and then various other visits. I feel like my home is being invaded. They have all been nice, and it did get me to vacuum, dust and steam mop the kitchen and hallway. I feel like the house is a mess but talking to them they said no it isn't, you won't believe the places they go into. He has cellulitis, it looks horrible and as a diabetic if it isn't treated he could lose his leg. So all of you diabetics out there make sure you clean all cuts and monitor your legs and don't wait so long to seek medical attention.

My Ducks are now 5-0 going into a bye week, but up next is Washington so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Seahawks play tonight, I'm not a fan of Monday night football. It starts too late and I need to be in bed by about 9:30.

Other than house cleaning and bringing all the Halloween decorations down from the attic that was the most exercise I got. Now I just need to get the decorations up.

Have a great day everyone!

I can imagine feeling invaded but I'm glad your roommate is getting the medical help he needs.

G'morning all!

LOL, that unfrosting is too cute.

Low key weekend for me. Got my flu+ booster shot on Fri and milked the "ouch it hurts" the whole weekend. Binge watched a 7 episode series about twin sisters, started another spy series - Tehran, and in general didn't accomplish much, but that was the plan. DH did a half marathon on Sun but came home unsatisfied because didn't get a PR and was running in mid 8 minute miles. I don't understand people that don't appreciate their two legs and the distance they can go on. Just be happy you are healthy, you have legs to run on, and you don't hate every second you are running, unlike me who hates running days. One of his running partners is from Marocco and the guy looks and runs like a gazelle, his "slow pace" is about 6 min miles. He says in his college days he was running 4 min miles. My Irish stocky husband compares himself to this guy and wants to run like a gazelle, that's not gonna happen.

QOD - oooh, so many things I can do. First, I would choose a big city library. My town library is not big enough. On the way there I would stop at every grocery store and gather all the non perishable food, and all the chocolate I can eat before it goes bad. Then I would be on my merry way to the library. Set up camp with sleeping bags, tent, and all my food around me and read myself to oblivion.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee + Mexican pastry
  • Wing stop chicken drumsticks
  • Built bar (churro flavor)
  • Cauliflower rice + chicken crumbles
  • E: Rest day

Happy start of the week!

Runners are a strange breed to me. My cousin is running a marathon next weekend and hasn't trained since his last one and my brother is training for a 50mile race in December! On purpose

Oh boy. 26 miles untrained is hard. Although you never know what "untrained" is for everybody. If you sat on your button the whole time you'll pay for it. But if you have run regularly even lower mileage and you are physically capable you could do it. DH didn't train either but he was running regularly and one positive thing was that he didn't cramp, means he didn't push himself too much.
I'm positive that the people who run those long mileage (50-100 miles) are a different breed.

Yeah, my untrained as having never run a marathon and his untrained as a frequent marathon runner are so not the same. My SIL is a marathon runner and she thinks my brother is nuts with this 50miler, lol.

You need to see the Documentary called, Just One Mile. It is about ultra runners. Definity a different bread.
