What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Morning gang. I was up till after midnight last night. Look at me, I'm a grownup! I lost most of Thursday and Friday doing other things, and in order to have time to dry I needed to get some boxes bent before today. I was still up wicked early. I've apparently lost the ability to sleep in.
My various lab work has started coming back. I hadn't had any done since before covid. I had appointments in April 2020, which got canceled, and I just hadn't gone bac****il now. I was a little worried that things had dropped during my neglect. I see some struggling with a ferritin of 6 or 8, for instance. I'll stop worrying. My ferritin was 483. Ham, baby. Ham.
QOTD. I have blocked all memories of my prom. It wasn't the prom as much as the 20 years after the prom I was blocking out, but if you erase a directory, include the root. I once had a therapist offer to help recover those memories. I have no idea why someone would be so intentionally cruel.
Here is a picture of our driveway being redone, from two weeks ago.

I have a lot of blocked memories as well and I am quite content without them.

I need to know the trick of convincing your SO that the driveway needs to be redone. I've been working on it for 5 years and no results yet.

This was old, cracked in spots, and ugly. There was a spot near the street that was becoming a sinkhole -- there was probably a tree stump under there, long long ago. But it was getting deep. Near the back steps and garage it had very gradually sunk, so the step was getting higher. And shoveling snow in winter was harder, because of the irregularities. And the unevenness was causing puddles, which froze in winter. And the whole thing was a little narrow, so it was an opportunity to make it 2 feet wider.
So, there were lots of issues, but when it changes so gradually over many years they don't jump right out at you. It was just time.
This is 20 feet by almost 60, and cost 4200 bucks. I didn't think it was too much money, and it makes a big difference.

Asphalt was looking better and better as I tried to rip all of the Purslane out to the expansion joints in my concrete a couple of weeks ago.

I've never seen a single concrete driveway or road around here. Too much road salt gets used in winter, and it just destroys concrete. I'm always a little surprised when I see concrete driveways in other parts of the country.
