Mornin' All!

well our driveway replacement project starts today. The "problem" with our driveway is cosmetic - a bunch of cracks because it probably hasn't been replaced in 40 years, but DH has been obsessing about the imperfections for about three years, so I finally caved. We'll have to park our cars on the street for the next week, which really worries me (car thefts and car vandalism), but we have no choice. Hopefully I'll be able to get my bike out of the garage because it's supposed to be super nice the next few days (80-ish and sunny). It'll have to go in and out of the back door of the garage because we can't walk on the new driveway for a couple of days (although at least we'll be able to walk on it long before we can drive on it) - but the way the garage is configured (our house is built on a hill, so we'll have to lug the bike(s) up some stairs to get them out of the garage), I'm not sure how easy this will be. Sigh.

the "Name that Tune" thing was really fun last night. People were sitting at tables of eight, and our table had people with ages ranging from 30s to 70s, so we cleaned up on the song titles and lyrics part. For some reason we blew it with the "where is it from?" section - it featured song clips from movies, TV shows, and musicals. We struggled with several of those. We'd (usually) recognize the clip, but couldn't remember which show it came from. Although we ended up doing well overall. Not that it mattered - the point was having fun, and we did.

QOTD: I went to two (both junior and senior years). That was back in the 70s so I don't remember much about them. Both were at some convention center in downtown Raleigh. Both times we went with another couple. I remember eating at some steak place before one of them. Can't remember where we went before the second one, but we must have gone somewhere for dinner before that one, too. After the second one, we went to my then boyfriend's house and stayed up most of the night drinking. I'm sure we were at some after-prom thing after the first one, too, but memory fails me...

coffee with half & half

either plain skyr with fruit compote or pumpkin yogurt with 2 T granola

maybe a protein shake?

Thai salad

Danish bread with butter and jam

borscht

Ratio yogurt

I have an old ear of corn in the fridge I should probably grill for one of us...

(boy this menu is getting boring. Although some of this stuff appears every day and I end up eating something else - so it goes back on the menu the next day)

ex: hopefully biking

have a great day, everyone!

I have our driveway on the list of upcoming budget items, I am cringing at the thought of the price today vs 23 years ago!

Name that tune sounds like it was a great time, I really wish we had something similar in our area!

I got 4 prices before doing mine. They were all within 100 bucks of each other.

Three of the four local companies have been here forever. They all have the third generation running things now.

Here too! The guy who's doing ours said his grandfather probably put in our original driveway (back when the house was built)

Oh boy, concrete is so expensive! I would have resisted replacing also. Sounds just like my DH though.
