What's on your Thursday Menu?
What a relevant QOTD - you kicked my butt into gear! I have a new job and new insurance starting Oct 1. I also have free access to One Medical through work (and DH who works for them) which is like medical concierge. No waiting, amazing technology (app is so intuitive) and Amazon bought them so I live for the day where I go to an appointment and when I get home my amazon package of pills is on the doorstep. My CVS is a nightmare. But my favorite PCP at One Medical is moving abroad so you spurred me on to make an appointment to set up a new relationship for Oct 9. I also scheduled my flu shot and COVID booster for Monday since I fly on Tuesday. Today is adulting times a gazillion.
Duffman, ironically I got prescriped Wegovy like 5 months ago and it's always been out of stock so I haven't tried it. I also would love a push to help me get some weight off so I can ideally get inspired and keep it going.
I got a HiiT class in last night, and I'm doing tabata tomorrow. It feels good to be back to a schedule of 3-4 workouts per week - now to build back up my strength.
B: Cottage cheese and EBTB plus jalapeno spice
L: Turkey and havarti sandwich
D: We have all the kidlets so I made them a special dinner - a tray of their grandma's mac and cheese, and salmon, chicken nuggets and fried shrimp (everyone has a different protein preference) and roasted broccoli, plus cheesecake. I will have a couple bites of pasta and probably 3 shrimp.
E: Nothing today, have a ton of meetings and an airport run! And dinner.
Have a most wonderful Friday Eve!
You introduced me to Tabata a while ago. This new program that I signed up with, does HIIT on Mon & Tue and Tue specifically they do Tabata Tue. It's torture and I always think of you. Not that I need Tabata to think of you but on Tue I think of you while I'm being tortured.

My insurance would not cover Wegovy! Boo. I am hoping the Mounjaro I was prescribed is not out of stock. Best of luck getting started.

QOTD- I had a doctor that I loved and she stopped taking insurance. So then I found a new doctor named one of the top 10 in Portland, and now she has moved to Washington. My new PCP is someone that I've seen before and I like her. No male doctors for me, I just can't do it.
This week has really flown by, I'm not sure why but it's almost Friday. It rained like crazy yesterday, it woke me up in the middle of the night with the rain hitting my window. My sleep has been horrible lately, I take lunesta and lately even that hasn't been working. I fall asleep and then wake up and can't fall asleep again. I know I shouldn't but I've been taking a second one and then I can get to sleep. I need to get off my butt and go do something, I bought the chromecast so I could do workouts on my TV but have yet to do one. So lacking in motivation.
My NP gave me Metformin because it is supposed to block some of the carbs, I'm not sure if it works since all I have been doing is gaining weight. I haven't weighed myself in a few weeks because I was so disgusted with myself. I know I need to be accountable and by not weighing it doesn't help.
I need to make an appointment with my counselor, it's been ages. I also need to look again to get my flu and updated covid booster.
Have a great day everyone!

The Good - I was 10 minutes early for my appointment and my Dr saw me right away.
The Bad - I gained 15 lbs since my appointment in March
The Ugly - my A1c is 7.2
We talked at length about my journey, she was in agreement with prescribing me a "kickstart" to get this a1c back under control and to jumpstart some weight loss.
I was prescribed Mounjaro, she has several patients enjoying success with Mounjaro.
I was on the phone with Joddie on my drive to the Docs, we have a friend on Mounjaro and I was not aware.....
I feel this is a big opportunity for me.
Thank you all for understanding and supporting me.

Good day Queen JB and Menuers,
Today was hectic with taking mom to her 6 months checkup and doing a potluck here at work. Everything went well. They are going to give mom a preventative pill and cream for her UTI. Now let's see if she will take it. I also have been working on getting a home equity loan or line of credit. I hate having to dig out all the paperwork. Hoping to have it all together shortly. I did get a few requests for the casserole recipe, so I am happy. I am going to post it since Matt was interested.
Food has been a menagerie of items today. What do you expect from a potluck. I had a fantastic salad with sweet potatoes, pecans, red onions, dried cranberry, and kale. We will see what the scale says tomorrow.
I need to get some more water in.
I got a dog walk in this morning, but it is pouring down rain now. I doubt I'll get one in tonight, but you never know if I cannot get him to do his business in the yard, I'll get to bring out the raincoat and suck it up. No bad weather just bad fashion choices, Right Jen!!!
Hope all is well.
Brightest Blessings,
Chrissy
