What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Morning menuers!

TGIF. I've been thinking it's Friday since Wednesday, so this is a long time coming.

I could use some advice from those so inclined who have knowledge of places to visit in the northeast/New England area. After Oktoberfest next weekend, I've got a slightly abbreviated road trip imminent that will land me at least in northern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Coastal Maine is also a definite. Most likely crossing through western PA and maybe topside Ohio. If anyone has any points of interest or fun culinary finds, would love you to share. The dogs will be with me, so that's my only limiting factor. Will drive for fun!

Menu today is protein yogurt, shaved turkey with cabot cheese and mustard, boiled eggs, rambutan, TBD because I have an appointment this morning.

I would totally come see you if I was in that neck of the woods. Have been known to wander and I hear there's more good cheese out that way I haven't eaten, yet! Someday soon!

There is a farm in VT that raises Mangalitsa Pigs. They are known for their fat content and if you can get ahold of the leaf lard/fat it is the most amazing stuff to bake and cook with. Of course their meat is pretty darn good also if you like pork. This is their FB page. From CT to VT took us just about 3 hrs.

Ooh, thank you for sharing! I'm just beginning to discover the subtleties of cooking with different types of fat, and it's taken a long time to get there. I'm ready to admit I have a small container of duck fat next to my ghee...so would be willing to give it a go. I'll check them out. Appreciate it!

If you hit the Pittsburgh region let me know. I'll give you some good suggestions. This is festival season so if your here on the weekend I may suggest something different than if you are here during the week.

Hello! There's a pretty good chance of coming through that area. Right now it would either be Monday or Thursday-ish at a rough estimate. I do still remember that pierogi place off Wexford. Welcome any suggestions! It's probably a quick zip through but also happy to meet for coffee or something if I'm there during a normal human hour. :)

Sounds Good I'm about 30 miles south of Wexford and I work near the airport so we will be able to meet for sure.
