What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Mornin' All!
Not much going on today - just my flu/COVID vaccines at 11:00. My 4:00 class is having a discussion session today re: a book they read, so attendance is optional for auditors (well, even more optional than usual) since we're not allowed to participate in classes - just observe - and I haven't read the book, anyway. I put a hold on it at the public library and am the next in line to get it. Of course, I could have bought the thing, but I'm too cheap. Oh - Lana asked what I was taking this semester. Easier to put it here than dig back through yesterday's posts. I'm taking three history classes: civil rights history, World War I, and "Europe since 1945", and an art history class that focuses on the art and architecture of ancient cities.
I seem to be super busy with stuff lately - I'm feeling a bit stressed about it, in fact, so I'm thinking I'll head to the pool this morning to work some of this off.
QOTD: I don't do much antiquing, although I do enjoy mid-century furniture (the Danish look) - which an antiquing friend said is "vintage" rather than "antique", although it's managed to sneak into antique stores...
B: maybe just a protein shake. Plus coffee with half and half (already had) (the last couple of days have been "small pouch" days, and I feel one coming on today, too....)
L: yogurt, Danish rye bread
AS: protein pumpkin pie?
D: Thai-style salad and some kind of protein
have a great day, everyone!
There was a piece on the news this morning about the new covid booster. The federal government ended the official state of emergency, and it allows insurance companies to decide on coverage and price. Some people were going to be charged $190 for the shot, and they walked away.

I certainly hope I don't get a big bill, but not dying from Covid feels kind of priceless.
I loved Danish furniture. We had covers that you could take off and wash and with a bunch of kids, those covers got washed a lot and always looked so nice when put back on.
I had a friend whose mother came from England. Her grandmother would find beautiful antiques in England, ship them here and they had a showroom in their farmhouse where they sold pieces. I was fascinated by old mirrors with ornate frames.
I am looking for a few pictures now and want to find something old and very unusual. I need to start going to antique stores and browsing.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I think I would like those history classes but not the art history one.

Good morning and happy Wednesday!! Hope you feel better soon QJB.
I had a lovely family day yesterday, even has a surprise when a cousin I hadn't seen in forever came. It was a rainy day but still so fun. My cousin picked up yummy croissants from the French bakery, slathered in a pistachio cream. I ate both halves over the course is the morning and afternoon, with some Brie for protein. He kept telling me "these are really light"...and they were, light and flakey because of all the butter, lol. Worth it though!
Working in the hotel this morning until I get kicked out and then pick up a colleague at the airport then customer meetings, customer dinner and two hour drive to our next site. All goodness!
qotd - I might actually rather go to the dentist.
menu today
Coffee plus half and halfX1
string cheese x2
half lemon blueberry muffin
probably filet and asparagus
have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Buttery croissant is always worth the sacrifice.
I am counting the days until I get my beloved wheat croissant! -24 days, not to see my mom, nor my 1 year old niece, nor the rest of the family! Nope, just to be reunited with my beloved wheat croissant.
