Good morning ~ I hope you get a break from the rain and are not buried in Boston this winter! I can only imagine that mess anymore. Good luck on your job search today. I had a different sort of day yesterday, busy but kind of great. I love my new unit staff. They are pretty awesome people and are excited about the changes I want to make. Even the ones that make procedures more difficult for compliance. It's nice not having the 'personalities' I had before. Today I have an all day training that is off site but closer to home so winning! I slept until 5:30, again winning! No exercise today.

QOTD - Usually cookbooks or health/diet type books. I just reread < that line! In other words, I will reread things about food. I just got 'Everything Fat Loss' by Ben carpenter that I know I will refer back to and reread for sure. He speaks to me.

Accountability - felt EXTRA snaky but stuck to protein things - beef jerky, protein chips/crackers

B- coffee x2, protein bagel w/whipped cream cheese

l - TBD

d- Chicken tenders, Greek salad

s- protein bar

Have a great day!

that's the one thing I hated about supervising people. There's always that one.. (and if you're unlucky, then MORE than "that one"...)

Good morning. And just like that we are back to gorgeous San Diego weather. Thank you weather God/spirit.

QJB -- Yes! I slept great. I'm back at 99% today. Arm is sore, voice is still a bit scratchy. But I can find no reason to avoid my Wednesday routine so big walk, chair yoga, book club that I walk to. Lots of steps today.

Last nights accountability, in the words of Billy Joel...I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. I stayed a saint last night and stuck to water. But the sinners were having a bit more fun. I ate half a burger and 10 fries. Was super careful with food all day, so I ended up within my calorie range. I don't think I'm going to get these 3 last pounds off by October 1, but I am really trying.

QoTD: Like Kelly, only vary rarely and always by accident. If it all seems just a little like deja vu, I'll keep reading. But if I know what's going to happen, I go for another book.

Bites today

B: last of the leftover shaved beef and sautéed onions and mushrooms

L: second half of the cheeseburger, minus most of the bun

D: TJ''s chicken shawarma, small pita, garlic hummus and rice for Rog

Peace Everybody!

G'morning all!

QJB - I love working at starbucks, but I rarely do. I get distracted by people watching. I saw a tiktok that the guy said he was seated close to the counter where the mobile orders are placed, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON who came in for their orders touched the tip of the cups to turn them around and look for their names. It made me aware that I do the same and since then I try hard to turn them from the bottom instead of the top. Not very hygienic, in this day and age, if you think 10 people having touched the lid of your cup. Yikes.

QOD - I re-read the classics. When I was young and not in charge of paying for my own books, I would reread the books I had until it was time to buy new books. I had an allotment for books but it was never enough. My dad loved it that I would beg for new books instead of toys and always bent the rules when it was earlier in the month than when I could get new books. Strangely enough we never used the library, we always bought books. I could have read so many more books if we went to the library. I have no idea why. I gotta ask my mom next time I talk to her.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Costco egg bites
  • Protein froyo, built bar
  • Taco Tue but with cauliflower thins
  • E: weights + HIIT

Happy hump day.

I have never not had a library card. I'm pretty sure my grandpa got mine issued at birth, lol. (Yes, i know there probably are age limits but I remember having mine before I started kindergarten at 4). In spite of my frequent recommendations, none of my nieces and nephews are library goers.

I was trying to picture in my head my town's map and where the library was, and for the life of me I can't place it. This is now really bothering me. I used plenty of libraries while in college but they were aall college adjacent, and used them for a place to study. But before college I don't recall using a library to get books.

After our book discussion a couple of weeks back I re-read Robinson Crusoe and Swiss Family Robinson, and the sequels for each. The sequel for Robinson Crusoe is not worth reading. The sequel to Swiss Family Robinson was written by Jules Verne, and is pretty good.

Robinson Crusoe was a dick, and had it coming.
