Pomfret is right next to Putnam. We have some real nice antique shops in the downtown area with along with great restaurants. I want to go to the new Irish one called Hare and Hound. It looks like they have authentic Irish meals.
I don't know how big Pomfret is, but it seemed to go on for a really long time. And I kept thinking how cool it was, a town name after French fries, in French.

Mornin' All!
scattered rain showers today, so no biking for me. And one of the cats has his six-month ophthalmology follow-up this morning, so no water aerobics, either. I guess I'll go to the gym later on this morning and do something. Class this afternoon at 4:00 - otherwise, reading for all my classes, plus the book for my book discussion group. I just started it and the meeting is next Monday morning, immediately following the OH conference. So I've got my work cut out for me..
QOTD: more of what I usually do in my retirement - reading, watching films, riding my bike, cooking, thinking about my next travel adventure, spending time on the internet
B: skyr, Danish bread with butter and jam, coffee with half & half
L: Thai-style salad, pumpkin skyr
AS: two keto cookies
D: Mexican-style corn on the cob, vanilla skyr with blueberries
have a great day, everyone!!
I am not bringing a costume and just going to sit and enjoy other people's creativity. I used to go to costume parties in alien outfits, like ET. The funniest costume I ever saw was on my boss who wore a hospital gown that was open in the back and exposed a big plastic butt. I used to have a black and white cow costume and wear that and ask people if they wanted milk.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
G'morning all!
Back from a fun weekend in Santa Barbara. The weather was great, mostly in the high 70s, the sun was shining and the views were breath taking. Our Airbnb was in a secluded part of SB so you'd feel you are in the woods. The race route was absolutely gorgeous (pics on Fri) and we met so many kind women. I got interviewed at the end of race; have no idea if it was a local channel or a school project. We also hit a couple of local famous restaurants, one used to be patronized by Julia Child, and had some very yummy food. All in all a great restoring weekend.
QOD - more reading, more crochet, night time walks. I always wonder how cities and places are when nobody is around.
My meals yesterday (on the road):
- Coffee & scrambled eggs (Mexican style with jalapeños and avocado)
- Epic chicken, built puff bar
- More built puff bars
- Protein puff jalapeño
- E: rest Day
Happy start of the week.
