Haha! We watch everything with close caption because I have a hard time with accents. And according to DS we are all deaf in this family, except for him. The most repeated word in this household is "what?"

Being a geek from childhood I've always had a "let people like what they like" approach, then cutting the cord helped a lot with just ignoring what annoys me

I am getting excited about attending the OH conference and have been watching old My 600 Pound Life episodes. I really admire Dr. Now and looking forward to hearing him speak. I am starting to worry about COVID again and going to bring masks to the conference. Hopefully I am just worrying too much.
QJB enjoy your beach day. I have a feeling you will be getting swamped with interviews and job offers. Hope the PPI kick in and you are feeling much better soon.

Today I have a runny nose and pressure headache. Not entirely sure why and my closest guess would be from sanding this weekend.
I've been off the PPIs for over a week and on the bile binder for a few days. Time will tell! Sorry your GERD is acting up JB.
No appointments with doctors this week that I can remember, so that's good. I'll call my orthodontist today about stopping in, though. One of the wires is coming out of the back of my bracket and I need to get it trimmed as it's scraping my cheek. It means my teeth are moving a lot, though, so yay for all the progress at seven months in. My gaps are minimizing.
Menu today is the rest of the sticky chicken, boiled eggs, turkey and cheese on an English muffin, a rambutan, a kiwi, part of a banana. Maybe a tin of clams after yesterday's question. If extra is needed, Greek turkey half Pita sammich.

had a great couple of days in Chicago (got back last night), and I'll be leaving for a B&B in Spring Green, Wisconsin later today to meet up with a friend from Milwaukee for a "girls' weekend" (since we're both retired, weekends can be any time!). We met up at this place before the pandemic and loved it so much we vowed to return every year, but then...COVID...so this is the first time we've met there in four years. I ate horribly over the weekend and feel every ounce of it this morning, so I'm going to take one of my sacred stash of leftover phentamine tablets and really eat the bare minimum until dinner. The friend and I are going to a terrific BBQ place - we went there the last time we met up at the B&B - but I may get a pulled pork sandwich rather than the pulled pork plate since it would involve (I hope) less food. Especially if I punt the bun. Then it's "diet on" from here on out. I've put on a couple of lbs this summer, and I'm not happy about it.
classes start today at UW-Milwaukee and tomorrow at UW-Madison. I was approved to audit four of them (one at Milw, three here) so I'll attend all four this week (two are online) and hopefully whittle it down to two to stick with. I took four last semester, and it was too much.
QOTD: well, Trump for sure - but I agree with the above sentiment that calling him a "celebrity" is a stretch. I'm also tired of the Kardashians. I've gotten tired of British royal family coverage, too - but I don't necessarily want them to go away.
