I have dreamed about having one of those endless pools for years. It is great that your sister has one.

I love caprese salad with fresh basil. Enjoy your football games.

Jalapeño margaritas sound fun! And mmm, fresh Basil! For the life of me, I can't keep Basil alive in those window box herb gardens.

Glad you got in some pool time!

Mornin' All (it's morning for another 30 minutes here in the Midwest!)

I just got back from the farmers' market and the store. I decided to make Ukrainian-style borscht today. It's going to be super hot this afternoon (and for the next few days), so I'm sort of stuck inside anyway. So I'll read - and make borscht!

not much else going on, but the coming week is going to be super busy. Chicago on Sunday and Monday, girls' "weekend" with a good friend from Milwaukee Tuesday and Wednesday, plus I have some appts - and classes start, too. I'd better enjoy today...

QOTD: probably Indian, but I love Mexican food, too. We seem to hit Mexican places a lot when we go out. Especially little hole-in-the-wall authentic taquerias. They've sprung up all over! As for Indian, I don't have a particular favorite - I like everything. I suppose Delhi-style curries would be at the top of the list, though. As for Mexican, it would be street tacos.

B: plain skyr with strawberries, Danish rye bread with butter and jam, coffee with half & half

L: Ratio yogurt with blueberries, cauliflower crackers

AS: maybe a protein shake if I need the protein (I'm trying to eat more substantial meals so I can (hopefully) cut out some of my mindless snacking..)

D: borscht, either a salad or corn-on-the-cob (Mexican style)

have a great rest of your day!

Good afternoon Mel and weekend menuers,

Sounds like an improvement in sleep time, even if just by an hour. Your brain could be trying to overcompensate by giving you wacky dreams.

QOTD- Always a caveat that I answer these based on how I feel at the moment. Might have a different answer tomorrow. Right now what's on my mind is Indian food, so I'll go with that. I'm searching for a specific kind of dal recipe, though haven't quite gotten there yet. I love vegetarian food, and just about anything with spinach and paneer is good in my book.

Accountability - Double chocolate cookie. Interestingly, my guts have settled down for the last day and a half. The scale says I've gained a considerable amount of weight. We'll see if I can maintain it since I know most is water weight.

Today's menu has been - a kiwi, insides of a delicious peach (not low fodmap but pups ate the skin for me, too), some turkey slices, some fairlife milk. Will also include spaghetti squash, some grits, protein oatmeal, sticky baked chicken, a chicken sausage, part of a banana.

I've been indulging in way too much clearance retail therapy. Swimwear was $3, so I did a bit of mix and match in preparation for December. I did get a couple of full body wetsuit type pieces but...will need to check the fit again in a month. I've also now completely filled my drawers with both casual and nicer underwear and bras. I'm up to probably 10 pairs of pants/jeans. All the camisoles were $1 so I bought a bunch for base layers. The form fitting ones are good for just a little shaping, too.

Looking forward to the fall shopping season since I like long sleeves and high necks. Wearing anything strappy out of the house makes me feel both naked and crispy simultaneously.

I'm about to start the bile binding drug as I picked it up last night. Calling it a horse pill is being polite, and it gives me a bit of pause. I'm supposed to start with one a day for a week and bump it up from there as needed. Onward and upward! Have a great Saturday.

I kind of feel the same about fav foods. I didn't get overweight by hating food!

I love Japanese food as well. Indian...middle eastern...Greek. I need to make some hummus.
