Happy Fridayyyyyyyy, all! It's my last Funemployed Friday - yes, that's right. I start a new job on Tuesday! I am working for my old boss and I am so excited!

QJB I love love love those cookie cards. I don't know where you come up with all of these creative ideas! I love them. I am still holding out hope that you rent commercial place and ship nationwide :)

Great question - I think I often say "lefty loosey and righty tighty" to remind myself which way to turn a screw? Just yesterday I taught our 13 year old how to know your "9s" timetable using fingers. Not mneumonic (or however you spell it) but a great shortcut! (hold hands up in front of your face, if you want to know 9x3 then put middle finger of left hand down and the two fingers to the left are a "2" and the seven fingers to right are a "7" so the answer is 27! Did everyone know this? My SIL had never heard of such a thing!

Today is also the last full day of having a FULL HOUSE. We took advantage of yesterday's perfect weather and blue sky and did a boat cruise out of Baltimore for lunch and the afternoon. Today we are hanging out, and I am making chili by request. One batch with ground turkey and one batch with Maui venison. DH has always been healthy but in the last two years he's become (I think) a little excessive - orders Athletic Greens, special mushroom coffeee for brain health, tons and tons of supplements and now this free-ranging Hawaiian venison. He explained it, "You are what you eat, ate". As in, these deer frolic and live an amazing life and don't eat antibiotics and don't live confined on a farm so the meat is superior. Whatever floats your boat!

B: Bacon! And cottage cheese (the rest of the family will have eggs and waffles) and maybe a hash brown

L: Boars head ever roast sandwich with havarti cheese

D: Turkey chili with sour cream and cheese!

I am impressed with myself - there are desserts galore in this joint, and I have abstained all but one tiny piece of homemade chocolate cake. Kudos to me LOL.

Have a most fabulous weekend!

Having lived in Maui the deer are axis deer. They were brought in thinking that they would only reproduce once a year. Well since the weather is always nice they reproduce year round. They are considered a nuisance and do over 1 million dollars damage a year to landscaping. They are small and pretty, but this is what happens when you don't think through the consequences of introducing a non-native species. They also brought in wild pigs to hunt and they have also become a problem.

I have never heard that for the 9 times tables. Is the new math? I'm old, I barely know old math.

When my grands are doing new math, I just stare at their work like a deer in headlights. W.T.H.???

All the circles! It's crazy, this common core math! I stopped being able to help past 3rd grade lol

we were supposedly doing "new math" back when I was in elementary school in the 60s...so I'm not even sure what "old math" is. I think they've had about 1000 generations of "new math" since then, so I suppose the stuff we did is now "old math".

I think Edward James Olmos showed that trick in Stand By Me. Classic math movie.
