The catalyst, if one could call it that, is years between surgery and life. They say the scar tissue continues to build. One thought for you. He has one of those "muscle stimulator" guns. He finds gentle impact helps his body move the food that gets stuck through. His symptoms mirror yours in many ways. Sweating. Vomiting. Doing laps to help start moving.

I went to the doctor in severe abdominal pain and he gave me medicine for IBS. That night the pain was so bad that I went to the hospital. It was kidney stones. I agree that IBS is when they don't know what else to say. I am sorry that you went through that and glad they found out what was wrong.

That's terrible! Wow. I'm glad they found your diverticulitis in time and were able to make repairs. A rupture sounds terrifying. Also hope it's been treatable for you since then. My mom has flares and boy, they're bad when they happen.
Thanks for sharing.

Medicine is not an exact science. It can be a bit of a guessing game based on symptoms with many conditions having the same symptomology. Hopefully, one of the 2 specialists can figure you out!

Certainly - we even talked about that yesterday. When you consult Dr. Google on these symptoms, 6-7 things come up and include everything to cancer. I always see some of it as trial and error to figure out. I do think there's a big component of finding the right doctor, though. Some are not people-focused in my experience. Don't have much doctor history until last year but I'm learning faster what I need from a provider and how to ask better questions. But I was also encouraged to seek other opinions, so I'm glad to have that venue, too.
Add in individual responses to conditions and reactions to medications and I don't envy doctors trying to figure out what's wrong with people. And my pain scale of 5 might be someone else's 9, or vice versa. Variables!
